Self-proclaimed "Dirtbags from The North", WATERLINES are hellbent on taking the UK metalcore scene by storm - their main aim, to write music designed to be played to a live audience. Formed in late 2022 from the ashes of a previous incarnation and armed with a new secret weapon in the form of vivacious vocalist Benji Mars, they are quickly gaining recognition for their unique blend of nu-metal and EDM/Synthwave infused metalcore, coupled with fiercely dynamic live performances.

WATERLINES have wasted no time in making their mark since their rebirth, with a multitude of UK headline and main support shows, appearances at respected festivals, a number of single releases, including latest offering ‘Sinister’- a Synthwave laden metalcore slap to the face, 'BRACE.' - a hefty song about a plane ride with an unhappy ending,  their version of Ultrabeat dance floor classics ‘Pretty Green Eyes//Elysium’ – a verified audience pleaser, and ‘Set The Pace’ - the song that inspired the Daisy Chain Gang movement (seeing hundreds of people at a show link arms and simultaneously jump to the left, left, left, right, right, right is a sight to behold), as well as receiving a hefty amount of BBC Radio 1 appreciation, alongside a 100% moshpit success rate to date, and prior to the band's rebrand, appearances at festivals including Takeover at Download Festival, Tech Fest and Radar Fest.

Following their showcase performance at Bloodstock in August 2023, when they headlined the Jagermeister Stage to riotous acclaim, the band were invited back to Bloodstock in Summer 2025, pulling out all the stops with an incendiary set on the Sophie Lancaster Stage, with stage crew, punters and journalists alike raving about their set being stand out and amongst their favourite of the whole weekend. But 2025 has been a busy year of shows, with the band playing at Radarfest, Mangata, Hammerdown, Mayday Mayhem, Slaughterhouse, and Sanctum Metal Fest amongst others.

As they look to the future it is with the utmost confidence that the Waterlines juggernaut is unstoppable.

"Waterlines have rapidly become one of the most talked-about new names in British heavy music, not for any flashy gimmicks, but for their relentless energy and ability to turn any venue, tent, or corner of a festival into a whirlwind of bodies and sound, and fans are starting to take notice.” – Primordial Radio

“Vocalist Ben Mars is fantastic; one of those golden talents who can sing like a bird on the wing one moment and growl like a bear with haemorrhoids the next. Meanwhile, stage right, guitarist Mike Hawkings effervesces like vinegar on baking soda. In an impressive act of audience participation, Mars gets the entire Sophie crowd to link arms around shoulders and bounce left and right. It’s irreverent and inclusive in equal measure. I like it when a genre that can be guilty of taking itself too seriously chooses not to." – Louder Than War, Bloodstock 2025 review

“Over on the Sophie Stage, Waterlines (8) are having a party of their own and everyone’s invited. We had no idea such a thing existed, but as the synth driven metalcore groove of Set The Pace kicks in and vocalist Ben Mars bellows “Welcome to the Daisy Chain Gang motherfuckers”. What can only be described as part circle pit, part conga line appears and we know we’re ready for a membership card.” – Rocksins, Bloodstock 2025 review
