New Moon Presents: The Durdy Laundry & Friends on Thursday 20th February 2020
Join The Durdy Laundry, Ah Um Vocal Collective and The Makeshift Ensemble on an interstellar journey through space and time at The Lending Room this February 20th from 7:30 pm. Falling in the week of the New Moon, we will be celebrating all things out of this world and bringing together a diverse ray of exquisite jazz performers, as well as presenting an immersive visual experience by projections artist, Marie Collier.
- The Durdy Laundry -
Front-man and bassoonist, Cameron Durdy, pioneers an eclectic sound drawing influence from Frank Zappa, Charles Mingus and Gil Evans. He boasts an impressive line-up of musicians, including clarinet, trumpet, cello, fluegelhorn, 2 violins, flute, upright bass, drums, keys, bass and percussion, to bring to life his weird and wonderful endeavours.
- Ah Um Vocal Collective -
A 12-piece contemporary Jazz & Pop Vocal Collective based in Leeds, singing arrangements of jazz-influenced repertoire from Chet Baker to Erykah Badu, and accompanied by drums, bass and keys.
- The Makeshift Ensemble -
A contemporary jazz trio featuring heavy riffs, luscious chords and mind-boggling drums.
