HINGES / Damp / Flea Market / Dead Extras on Friday 22nd June 2018
'Hinges are back; and bolder, broader and brasher than ever' - Yorkshire Evening Post
An emotionally charged emo/grunge band from Leeds. They can be characterised through their heart wrenchingly honest lyrics delivered with a fiery growl, backed up with their erratic and unpredictable sound which can switch from pretty melodic chords to hectic and ferocious riffs in an instant.
“They are the audial ointment to the dryness you hadn't even realised was chafing.” Ben Sowden
Formed in 2016 they’re a grunge band from Leeds with enough 90's influence to fill a blockbuster whilst still keeping it fresh. Their debut EP existential vertigo is available for free download at https://thedampband.bandcamp.com
'Flea Market certainly know how to put together an off-kilter pop song.' - Alt Corner
Pulling influence from alt rock luminaries Dinosaur Jr, Superchunk and Buffalo Tom, Flea Market have developed a distinctly 90's grungy pop sound. Formed in 2016, they released their debut EP 'Super Loud' in 2017. Recorded with legendary producer Andy Hawkins in a converted chapel, it spawned the 'Girl Come On' single and video. The band are about to release their new EP 'Make Fuzz Great Again' as well as a split 7' single with Box Jellys.
'Mixing the breakneck tempos of old school NoFx, underscored by social commentary in the vein of The Clash and weighty riffs, Dead Extras combine post-hardcore punk, grunge and metal into a cacophony of lightning fast licks, howled vocals and rattling rhythms.'
Music Genres: Alternative, Punk, Rock
