We’re very excited to announce that Northern indie favourites Embrace will take control of the main stage on Saturday night at Williamson Park on the 19th May. The band, who have had three number one albums, are making a big comeback with a new album, Love Is A Basic Need, out on March 2nd and are kicking off their summer festival gigs in Lancaster. They’ll perform a mix of the old school classics which made them chart-toppers - All You Good Good People, Come Back To What You Know and Gravity- mixed with a selection of brand new songs.

About Highest Point

The festival has been set up as a tribute to Chris Glaba, who started A Wing alongside Richard Dyer and Jamie Scahill as well as working at Skiddle. Unfortunately, Chris lost his short battle with cancer last year.

The 5th Dec has been chosen to announce the first artists as it’s the one-year anniversary of the passing of our friend and colleague, Chris, who died at the young age of 27.

Since we started A Wing in 2014, an annual music festival at Williamson Park was always in our sights. Since the passing of Chris last year, who was integral in the A Wing and Hacienda Classical event, it became even more of a goal to make it happen. We want to create a legacy music festival, to join all of the other amazing events that happen in the city, that the people of Lancaster can be proud of.

In tribute of Chris, £1 of every ticket sale will be passed on Macmillan Cancer Support.
