Didn't go because this con is awfully ran and the only major guest they had cancelled and as his bonus things were included in the main event price you can't get the main guest specific items refunded.

Review of Inverness Comic Con

I bought tickets for my son who cosplayed for the weekend. He had an amazing time and met some amazing new friends and they are already planning next years cosplay and get togethers! Excellent.

Review of Inverness Comic Con

For a first convention, Nesscon was very good, but not without a few problems, most of which relate to the venue.
Firstly, there simply wasn't enough tickets available due to Eden Courts maximum capacity rules meaning many of my friends couldn't attend either because they didn't have money available at the time of pre-booking or simply weren't even aware the event was happening until the tickets were sold out.
Secondly, due to it being broken up into many rooms instead of one or two large areas many people couldn't find where they wanted to go without help from fellow patrons.
All other issues (lack of promotion, poor co-ordination of the cosplay contest, etc) are understandable as they can be put down to a lack of experience which shan't be such an issue next year.
Hopefully a more ideal venue, such as the Inverness Leisure centre, and the lessons learnt will lead to an exceptional con next year.

It was good day out. If done again i would recommened better signage as i was lost on the first day and almost missed out on some of it, a cosplay show down with prizes, more t shirts as there was loving designs as stickers which would be great on a tshirt, a gaming area (playstation or xboxes) where you can buy games , figures and if possible a chance to play agaist one and other

I attended Saturdays event with my partner, little brother and sister. We all thought that the event was very well organised with a clear programme and regular updates on Facebook on the lead up to the day. All staff were friendly and helpful at the venue. All the vendors were fantastic, a great selection of comics, books, jewellery, toys, etc. The panels were great although there was a change on the day meaning we missed the Star Wars panel we would have liked to attend. We would highly recommend.

The Nesscon team put on a fantastic, family friendly, sociable event. Well-staffed and organised by people that were really into the event. The atmosphere was great, the panels and guests were warm, friendly and very approachable and the layout was really good. A few improvements I would suggest : Allow the venue an allocated amount of tickets to sell, it was disappointing to head to Eden Court back in January to be told they aren't selling tickets! The venue - I understand Eden Court has a programme of events, but it felt slightly odd having all the Cosplayers leaving to parade through a gathering of Older and non-event patrons arrived for the theatre or cinema - Maybe suggest using Inverness Leisure or a similar venue with more facilities to dedicate the event to. Some ticket niggles, but Darrel sorted them and was very professional throughout. Overall a massive success for the first Nesscon event!

This event has potential but it was not realised. My Husband enjoyed the Panels but for me was just row upon row of merchandise and not a lot else. Complete lack of any acknowledgement of Star Trek franchise was beyond belief. There are several war gaming/ role playing games clubs in Inverness as well as A Games Workshop, I feel they should have had a bigger platform at the convention, I would also have liked to have seen more props and models. Communication could be improved, I attended for a talk that was rescheduled to the next day!

Review of Inverness Comic Con

We purchased a family ticket for both days. Overall it was a great 1st Comicon in Inverness and the organisers should be proud of themselves. However, constructive criticism for future events....there was not enough to do. Yes there were lots of exhibitors selling their wares, but if like me money is tight it did make for a rather boring experience. The games tables are fine if you know how to play those games but generally they take weeks to learn not minutes. The nerf table outside was swamped because it was the only thing to do.

On the hole it was a great weekend and I look forward to next year xxx

Honestly I was a little underwhelmed! Seeing everyone dressed up was great but the actual event was very small, if you weren't getting pictures taken you could easily be round it in 20-25 mins..

Went with the whole family on both days - great guests, great stallholders, and absolutely fantastic crowd. Met some brilliant cosplayers, great atmosphere, everybody really friendly and up for a chat. Could maybe use a few more activities and things to do, but for a first-year convention it was phenomenonal. Can't wait for next year!

It was great for their first event, like this, in Eden court. Everything was laid out well and everyone was very friendly and helpful, from the stars, to the team.
My only criticism was, that there wasn't enough information on what you got from a VIP ticket, which was rectified for the Sunday

This is the first time that Nesscon has ever been held and it can be forgiven for having some teething problems. I was made to feel welcome by the organisers and the atmosphere was very positive. There are a few things I would review for next year, though.
-Stall/Event Placement: I don't think very many people realised there were extra stalls in the One Touch Theatre as the hallway to get there is easy to miss. Clearer sigage and more events in the studio e.g. autograph signings would help bring more traffic to the studio and nurture the viability of the space.
Board game space: Again, easy to miss. Clearer signage is probably the way to go.
Venue: Eden Court is a good space but it's still a bit clunky for conventions. Somewhere like the Aquadone would've been better but availability is always a factor.
Like I said, I did enjoy my time overall and I met some cool people. I'll definitely come again in order to nurture this event to its full potential.
