Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival 2018 takes place Thursday 2nd - Saturday 4th August 2018.
The festival appeals to a family audience, from babes in arms to grannies in their eighties, and everyone else in between. Its esoteric range of musical genres – from Celtic through mainstream rock and indie to roots, jazz dance and classical – and its catholic coverage of the arts besides music – theatre, street theatre, installation art, literature, poetry, debate, performance art, children’s entertainment and much else besides – make Belladrum resemble a smaller version of Glastonbury north of the Highland line.
Bella sold out in 2017, and has sold out each of the last nine years often months before the event, so fans are urged to buy early to avoid disappointment.
Belladrum 2018 takes place in the beautiful Highland surroundings of Belladrum Estate, near Beauly in Inverness-shire. The independent festival has built a reputation for its eclectic line-ups, its offbeat non-musical entertainments and its all-ages approach. The festival won a VisitScotland Thistle Award in 2009 and is a past winner of the Grassroots Festival Award at the UK Festival Awards, the festival industry’s ‘oscars’.
Friday night will be headlined by Craigie Knowes a Glasgow based duo who have been on the scene for almost 10 years despite still only being 25! Their Craigie Knowes label has released music by some of the world’s best including Bicep, Move D and DJ Overdose.
Saturday night will be headlined by Andrew McGibbon celebrating 10 years of Filth the iconic Highland club night that he started in 2008 alongside dearly departed Inverness DJ Ross Lyall.
Mother’s Ruin will play host to a wide range of dance genres from House to Techno to Trance with emerging DJs such as Danger Giant Wolfhound, MW, Max & Craig, James Thomson, Cammy Harper, Rowan Spencer-Nairn, Iain Sabiston and duo Smith & Do Rego all making their debuts at Belladrum.
Established Highland heavyweights Alan MacPherson (Audiolife), MARC, Ckaz (Boobs on Decks), FLYNN, Andy Rough, DJ Dropz, Matt Lyon (Ruckus), Neil Ferguson and Fozko will also be making appearances and keeping the party going over the weekend.

CLEAN FIELDS @ BELLA
Brothers and sisters! A place for people to camp together and groove at Bella in perfect cleanliness, in perfect harmony, in peace …
To pitch your tent in Clean Fields doesn’t cost you anything extra in cash terms. You just need the right wristband from us.
But to camp there you need to sign up to the agreement everyone in Clean Fields keeps (and if you don’t adhere to it, we will have to ask you to move to another camping area):
- Clean fields will be spotless when you arrive. Please keep it like that during the event and leave it that way when you leave.
- Everything you bring into Clean Fields, you must remove or dispose of in the appropriate bins provided.
- All camping equipment must be taken away from the festival or left at the gate in the charity compound – please don’t drop it in other camping areas.
- Spread the love – make friends with your camping neighbours and offer help to anyone who needs it (ie the first time tent builders)
- Keep an eye on your neighbour’s tent if they are absent
- Share your food and drink around
- Don’t allow under-aged people to drink alcohol
- Keep it peaceful – don’t keep your neighbours awake with bongos!
Clean Fields will be situated in the Green camping areas.
Disabled Access Information:
In order to limit numbers of non-disabled persons camping and parking in the disabled area, specific rules apply to acquiring disabled tickets, disabled carers’ tickets and to disabled persons’ guests in that area. Parties are restricted to four and only one car per party.
Is there disabled camping and parking?
Yes, Blue Badge disabled campers with mobility issues only can camp and/or park in the Disabled Camping & Parking Area. Disabled persons without mobility issues should park in the appropriate area for where they want to camp - parking passes available here: https://www.skiddle.com/pages/bellapasses.php
I’m disabled – what do I do about tickets and how does my carer get one?
IF YOU ARE NOT A BLUE BADGE HOLDER:
You should buy your ticket in the normal way through our tickets page and select the parking pass suited to the area where you want to camp. For your free carer’s ticket, you should then apply to Mary Ferguson with evidence of disablement (ie photocopy/scan of DLA letter front page)
IF YOU ARE A BLUE BADGE HOLDER:
You should buy your ticket as normal via our tickets page and then apply for your free carer ticket with evidence of being a Blue Badge holder to Mary Ferguson (email: firstname.lastname@example.org). Assuming you qualify, Mary will also issue you with your Disabled Camping & Parking area passes and your Disabled Vehicle pass. She will also give you a link where you can download your Orange windscreen hanger (which does not allow access on its own).
How do I take a campervan/ caravan to the disabled camping area?
You need to have tickets to this area and to have qualified for these as a blue badge holder. To get a campervan/caravan ticket for the disabled camping area and an electrical hook-up if you require one, you should apply for these through Mary. Do not buy these tickets through the normal tickets page.
Where do I park as a blue badge disabled day visitor?
If you have a Disabled Camping and Parking area pass and Disabled Vehicle pass, you can day park in theDisabled Parking & Camping area. It would be helpful if you could let Mary know in advance if you plan to day park so that we have an idea of numbers.
Are all areas of the festival accessible by wheel chair?
Yes, and there are special disabled viewing areas in many of the arenas; however this is an outdoor event and conditions could become muddy and slippery.
