elrow prides itself on celebrating the wild and audacious, with fiestas fit for any dancefloor and a mix of the best electronic music currently on the scene. It's garishly thematic with creative and fantastically executed productions that include exaggerated street theatre, outlandish props, crazy costumes, inflatables, confetti and over the top make-up. Men in drag dangle from the ceiling on bungee ropes, while stilted performers roam through the packed crowd.
Starting its Ibiza history in Privilege's Vista Club in 2012, elrow then moved to Space after two seasons in 'Privi'. Down in Playa d'en Bossa, elrow turned into a mammoth fiesta over the course of three summers. Especially in Space's last year, 2016, elrow regularly filled the venue to a 'sold out' status. And now that Space has gone, elrow has found its new home, back in San Rafael, but on the other side of the road, at Amnesia.
Every Saturday from 3 June to 30 September 2017, expect an immersive experience where spectacle, music, colour and happiness are all united to create an electric atmosphere that you're unlikely to find elsewhere. Past themes have included Bollywood, Day of the Dead, Chinese New Year and Retro '80s, and while some will return this summer, three new themes have been added into the mix. On 3 June you have the psychedelic Summer Of Love, on 16 September elrow brings us the mysterious underwater world of El triángulo de las rowmudas (the Bermuda Triangle).
elrow music usually falls within the tech-house region, and this year is no different as a solid bunch of elrow regulars have rallied round to be included on those line-ups. As previously mentioned, the opening fiesta will be diving into those fancy dress baskets to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Summer Of Love, and with that being a cultural phenomenon that was bursting with psychedelic discovery, they'll throw down the kind of insane immersive show that'll be hard to peel yourselves from. The line-up for that beast includes UK selectors Skream, Patrick Topping and Eats Everything, with international game players Anja Schneider, Art Department, Matador, Ilario Alicante and Cuartero and residents De La Swing and Eddy M.
Other artists confirmed to be ambushing your eardrums in sonic dynamite are Alan Fitzpatrick, Andres Campo, Detlef, Bastian Bux, Edu Imbernon, Riva Starr, Richy Ahmed, Russ Yallop, Toni Varga, Mario Biani, Technasia, Sidney Charles, Santé and Claptone, among more.
It's a party that begs you to get involved by donning something oversized and ludicrous, so prepare to make a grab for the plastic trumpets and inflatable head gear included in the shower of goods that fall from the ceiling.
