<p>After the popularity of the last two years events the cabaret is back, in its new home at The Stade Open space, in the heart of Hastings Old Town, the perfect backdrop to an evening of Piratical shenanigans for those grown up Pirates!- expect an evening of fantastic performances and some to make your bones shiver, all headlined by the great ' Old Time Sailors' 20 piece band playing for your delight... over three hours of entertainment helping to raise funds for Hastings Pirate Day-keeping the Sunday a free, popular family day for all to enjoy! please note that due to the nature of some of our acts this is a strictly over 16's event with under 18's being accompanied by a responsible adult- so what you waiting for? spread the word and book your tickets now!</p>

The event was moved to a different location at the last minute due to bad weather. Unfortunately this meant there was no organisation at all which led to long queues, lack of seating, expensive drinks and not as many performances. Also, the stage was very low so it was difficult to see the acts. We didn’t get the service we expected which we have experienced on previous years so overall very disappointing.

Great music from Old Time Sailors. Venue didn’t suit some of the acrobatic acts and inadequate information led to bottlenecks of service. Very little space around the tables making it feel cramped. With a bit more thought (not a last minute change of venue) it could work well. Friendly atmosphere and the costumed audience were fantastic.

The venue was too small to contain what should have been a large area of entertainment. 

Staff were very poorly informed.  We spent a lot of money on a VIP table for six and only managed to get one by accident because nothing was reserved when we got there (?!)

The pitcher of 'grog' included in the price turned out to be basic lager which amounted to just four pints.  Four pints of lager between six people (some of which hate lager). Our cups did not runneth over.

The entertainment was sub Britain's Got Talent.  The band were very good but everything in between was just a succession of different people doing unimpressive party tricks.

As soon as it was time to leave (at about 10pm), the bright lights went on like it was 3am in a nightclub and the usual unpleasant fluorescent wristband blokes were trying to get us out like we were an annoyance.

Never again.

unfortunately venue got moved inside this year. Didn’t get our tables 
which we had paid for , so not a good view of the event. Bar queues were something else. 
Band and acts were brill tho, as was the atmosphere.

It was a last minute change of venue but was very unorganised. I paid extra for a table that wasn't available when we arrived, it took them ages to move people. Once seated at the back of the room we had no view as the burlesque and pole performances took place on the ground level and not on a stage. We saw the same acts the next day for free with a much better view!!!!

The best act was the old sailors, but the cabaret was disappointing. The compère was ill prepared and disinterested. The various striptease/ burlesque became a bit monotonous after the third one in a row. The fact that the cabaret had to move to Owen’s meant there was no food available, also disappointing

I understand the venue change was last minute, but the sound system was appallingly bad for every act except the excellent Old Town Sailors who were frankly the only high point of the entire evening. They somehow managed to overcome the sound issues that dogged everything.

The person in the door was frankly rude regarding my request for the table we actually paid for. My friend is disabled and we essentially booked a table to meet her needs. The doorwoman’s attitude was one of, ‘you should’ve read the small print’ which was not particularly helpful, to put it mildly. We eventually managed to get the security staff to find a table for us (respect to them).
So , having paid a fair amount for the table, we were given one on duress. Poor planning, poor sound, rude, jobsworth door staff. 
So no,  I would not book this again. And neither will any of my large group of annoyed friends.

Fab music but needs more variety and better cabaret quality, too much striptease 🤣
