Alice Armstrong is a singer-songwriter and entertainer from Surrey, UK, known for her impressive vocal range, unconventional lyrics, long red hair, light-sensitivity glasses and enigmatic stage presence. Alice’s voice and songs vary widely in emotional tone, reflecting a complex personal history.
An Alice Armstrong show promises a soulful, dynamic, genre-busting performance packed with world class musicianship and wry British repartee. Her personal and provocative lyrical content is served with an enigmatic physical performance reminiscent of the likes of Janis Joplin, Tina Turner and Lizzo, leaving the awed audience laughing, crying and tapping their feet in equal measure.
Alice has reached the top 20 played lists of the Independent Blues Broadcasters Association and Blues Matters Magazine, has been nominated for four different categories in the UK Blues awardsand performed at the 2023 awards ceremony, sponsored byMarshall.
So far in 2023, Alice has released two singles, ‘Speed Dial’ and ‘Graveyard Shift’, performed and toured across Europe, recorded her first EP and is booked to play Joe Bonamassa’s prestigious Keeping the Blues Alive Mediterranean Cruise. An article in the March edition of ERB Magazinesays this of Alice: ’She’s a born entertainer, with a voice very few people could rival. If you can get to one of her gigs, I would recommend going to hear what could easily be the voice of a generation‘.
Don’t let her success in the British Blues scene fool you: Alice’s music busts the seams of traditional genres, creating a heady amalgamation of blues, soul, funk, rock, pop and country.
Alice’s world-class band consists of some of the finest musicians on the circuit today, including members of award winning acts such as Catfish, Stevie Watts Organ Trio and the Krissy Matthews band.
