Alcatraz Harry was born on a fateful day in Frankfurt, where his mother gave birth to him in a bassbin, while listening to the early electronic squeels of kraftwerk. Not long after his birth, his mother decided to take him away from the technotronic sounds and bring him to a place free from these crazy unidentifiable noises. Trying hard to bring him up on a diet of Elton John, Showaddywaddy, and the Eagles, the young boy soon rebelled from these infernal sounds and chose to find, once again, the sounds that brought him into this world. He knew it began with a Bratwurst and ended with a Moustache, but couldn't find what connected them. The journey to the centre of the bassbins has begun, but what will he and more importantly you, find?

Part 1

His quest for the perfect squeal began at the age of 11 while listening to his sisters early euro dance classics. 2unlimited, Cappela, Ace of Base, and Haddaway all squeezed at his 11 year old nipple buds asking what is love? His reply was immediate, baby don't hurt me, my love is this music, some folk call dance. His first tentative footsteps into the world of dance music were wild uneducated choices..

He then heard the fast bpm coma inducing smack-core on the droog infested pirate stations and was immediately drew to its uber fast beats. He avidly recorded these pulsating sine waves, and hooked himself up for a prodigy sized radio snack every Friday. By the age of 12 he had acquired his first pair of (wanky) belt driven record decks, and with this he ventured into town to fiend out some smack core delight..

As he began to regular at these underground record shops, the vinyl merchants began to take the young splunger under their wing, and educate him in the ways of the music. He quickly changed tastes, from hardcore, to jungle, to drum n bass, and then to house, this happened over years of visiting every Saturday, while his mum shop unaware at House of Frasier. By 16 he was fully submerged in a french house pond, only seeing the filter house fish and disco frogs...

He thought at this stage it started with an onion, but we all know, he was misguided…

Part 2

His disco fingers pointed in the direction of a sampler, he knew this was the next place to secure his teenage kicks. When he aquired his said machine, he committed to pure vinyl robbery, ploughing out his dads 70's disco, and slamming it to the sounds of a stolen filter house beat. He would regularly display his knocked off warez at the local vinyl merchants to the delight of the regulars and merchants alike. All the while saving his money for a knocked off maplin P.A. rig!

Why the P.A. rig you ask? Well, it was all to feed his wolf like hunger of playing beats. 2 Bar mitzvahs, 4 weddings and a funeral later, he knew these Robbie Williams tinged gigs were not for him. He was not a rock d.j. but at 16 he could not legally drink either, so the hard path of mobile rock cock jockeying would be his only outlet for the next 2 years. After 3 years of hard grind on the mobile circuit, he had enough, the Abba had taken its toll, and the kicks of an Hokey Cokey had warn off…

He was closer to the moustache, but he felt further away than ever…

Part 3

The young whipper snapper then when to university, where he indulged on a diet of lager, lager, lager, lager and mega, mega white things, his wig was then truly blown off his brain box,as he started to get his first tastes of drum n bass raves. Crazy student parties in handbag shaped basements were where our hero first started to knock out some serious(and not so serious) beats, he was a free genre dabbler, as no one he knew at the time would attend a house or techno raves with senior Harry….
This was at a time when he had first started dabbling in Reason(not rationality, the audio program), he was cooking up a batch of poorly constructed drum n bass beats, but this did not stem his enthusiasm for then joys of musical construction….
He also mused his first residency, a four year stint at a bar with the old tittal tattle, he soon grew confident and would regularly take sideswipes at all things musical with pot shots at rnb, hip hop, house, techno, disco, pop, wazz, bollocks and shit(some of the previous genre’s included a bit of wazz, bollocks and shit too)…

The moustache was growing like a baby conifer, it was small, but stayed green all year round…

Part 4

Insert insane antics and mixing with unidentifiable underworld beat smugglers, of which names cannot be disclosed for the protection of others, this is a shady time in world history, how the moustache has grown to this point must remain under wraps....
