SouLutions Live At The Suburbs

SOULUTIONS are the writing team of Steve Lee and Louise Mehan. Steve and Louise have worked and performed together for over 20 years and they began writing their own songs in 2007.

They performed these songs under the guise of AMBIENCE, including the timeless Listen, in local venues but unfortunately they weren’t received well and the material was shoved in a drawer.

Disheartened, the song writing was put on hold until 2014 when, through the persistence of Louise’s mother, Paul ‘Bumski’ Redfern, the foresight and brilliance of Gary Van den Bussche and the mixing skills of Billy Freeman (Dizabone) the track Listen became an overnight success.

This gave Steve and Louise the confidence to pick up the quill again, and to date Steve and Louise have released their forth Album ‘Anthology’ following on from DESTINY, THANKFUL and FATE.

Not content with just writing songs the couple wanted to showcase their songs to a public who was just as eager to see this modern soul outfit from the North East. So they went about putting together a nine-piece (sometimes 10!) band, and for the last four years have performed up and down the country with overwhelming success.

To simply say that SouLutions burst onto the UK soul scene in 2014 would not do justice to the time invested by song writing duo Steve Lee & Louise Mehan developing their songwriting skills, to create their distinctive ‘SouLutions’ sound.

Overnight success is rarely sustainable, so in relaying the SouLutions story - those development years are as critical as the last 9 years, which have seen them release 4 exceptional albums ‘Destiny’, ‘Thankful’, ‘Fate’ & ‘Anthology’ together with a whole host of singles that have shook the very foundations of the UK Soul Charts and deservedly earned them the title ‘darlings of the modern soul scene’.

And what about that ‘sound’, well just close your eyes & imagine a beautiful house of music created from a ‘Philly’ foundation stone, lovingly cared for, crafted and brought into the modern era and topped off with the truly sublime vocals of Louise Mehan.
