Mele Mel & Scorpio of Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five celebrate the 40th Anniversary of 'The Message' alongside the Sugarhill Gang.

The in house band for Sugarhill Records, Sugarhill Gang released what is widely regarded as the first hip hop single 'Rappers Delight' in 1979. It was to be their biggest solo hit, although the band went on to back many other groups on the label, including Grandmaster Flash, Melle Mel & the Furious Five who had huge hits with hip hop's first socially conscious rap track 'The Message' and with 'White Lines (Don't Do It)'
