Kyle Falconer With Supports | Room 2 Live, Glasgow on Saturday 15th April 2023

23 Promotions & Room 2 Live Presents...

Kyle Falconer, solo singer-songwriter and founding member of Mercury Prize nominated band The View, will be playing in Room 2 Live in Glasgow on Saturday 15th of April. Kyle, backed by band, will be playing a set combining his solo music and classics from The View's back catalogue. With support from Feet of Clay and Jamie Coleman.

Kyle's last solo album, No Love Songs For Laura, was released on Honey Pie Recordings in 2021. Featuring the singles 'Wait Around' and 'Stress Ball'. “Driven by a love of soul, pop, and classic songwriting.” ~ Clash.

The View frontman ignited anticipation for the record with two lead singles ‘Wait Around’ and ‘Stress Ball’. Eclectic support for the two tracks included a playlist at Radio 2, a session for Chris Evans’ Breakfast Show on Virgin Radio, praise from Clash and NME, plus adds to Spotify playlists including Peach and Transistor.

No Love Songs For Laura is an anthemic 13-track set that takes Kyle Falconer in bold new musical directions that has him sounding like he’s never sounded before. It’s a record that works the heart as much as the head, the dancing feet as much as the punching fist of joy. It’s an album of emotional highs and occasional confessional lows which reflects upon both his home life, with his wife Laura and two children, and the journey he has undertaken to arrive where he is today.

“Laura doesn’t need me to write her a love song,” says Kyle. “This is a collection of the emotions, life events and stories that have blown my mind in the last couple of years, and got me to where I am today. it’s a bit of an in-joke between us every time we listen to the mixes in the car together that these were not love songs for Laura but more just a soundtrack to the life we’ve made for ourselves.”

Feet of Clay: 'Glasgow’s own pioneers of Britpop meets 70's psychedelia, Feet of Clay, are rapidly becoming one of the hottest live acts the City has seen in recent years. The band consist of J McMullen on vocals, Danny (Bif) Brown on guitar, Craig Croal on bass, Brian Imrie on lead guitar, Andy Kilpatrick on keys and Barry Boulton on drums. In the time they have been together they have sent waves through the Scottish music scene and beyond with Tony Watson boss of the Leeds arena a huge fan and has featured the boys in his arena boss blog. With regular slots at UK festivals every year. The boys have supported a who’s who of the 90s scene including Cast, The Bluetones, Dodgy, Bez of Happy Mondays, Northside, Hurricane #1 and many more. Gigslutz magazine named them one of 'five Glasgow bands to watch' (http://www.gigslutz.co.uk/unsigned-city-glasgow), they have had numerous appearances at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow as well as two consecutive years playing the main stage of the famous Barrowland Ballroom with a headline slot resulting in the band being immortalised on the Barrowland Park Pathway. The bands last single, 'No Apologies' made the UK Singles Chart and they are putting the finishing touches to their first album which should be out later this year and released on the Button Up Records label.'

Jamie Coleman: 'Singer-songwriter from Clydebank. He has toured with and supported Alabama 3, Ocean Colour Scene, Cast, Chris Helme, The Bluetones, Curtis Harding, Tom Hingley, Brownbear, The View and many more top acts over the years. He has played clubs and festivals across the UK, playing solo and full band shows from Inverness to India and has also worked with Alan McGee of Creation Records playing Creation Sessions around the UK.'
