Scottish power trio Rigid Soul strive to keep the old spirit of rock ‘n’ roll alive through their modern eclectic sound. The definitive line up - Kyle Hood (guitar/vocals), L. Brown (bass) and Lewis Ross (drums) - formed in 2018 and has since played relentlessly around iconic Scottish venues. In crafting their live repertoire and original material, they have taken inspiration from 60s rock, delta blues, jazz and everything in between.
Friday 30th May will mark a milestone for the band – the release of their debut album and the biggest headline show in their home city of Glasgow. Join Rigid Soul at Room 2 as they bring the album to life onstage with a little help from their friends!
El Galvarino are a young dynamic 4-piece multi-instrumentalist band. The bands journey began busking on the streets of Glasgow. el Galvarino’s music is a captivating fusion of rock, indie, punk and psychedelic rock. The band's passionate performances and electric sound have garnered them a dedicated following in Glasgow's vibrant music scene. Their energetic live shows are known for creating an electrifying atmosphere that resonates with audiences. El Galvarino's original compositions showcase their diverse musical influences while maintaining a distinctive sound that sets them apart. The band have performed and played at several music venues across Glasgow and have gained regular airplay across radio stations. The band line up is Catalina on rhythm guitar & keyboard, Carini on bass guitar & vocals, Chris on percussion, Carlito on lead guitar, vocals and harmonica.
Johnny Barr is a Paisley based singer/songwriter. Johnny’s unique combination of percussive guitar technique and intricate finger picking makes him an exciting act to watch, especially when this is paired with his effortlessly exhilarating stage presence. Johnny has been featured on Radio 1’s BBC Music Introducing Scotland and has supported a number of acts such as The Staves, Lianne La Havas, Admiral Fallow, Mick Flannery and Sucioperro. Furthermore, he has headlined Glasgow’s King Tut's Wah Wah Hut and has also been part of the venue’s New Year’s Revolution festival. In addition, he has also been part of an exciting six piece Folk/Pop Singer/Songwriter Collective known as Winter Springs! (www.facebook.com/winterspringsmusic). Johnny recently rebranded and returned to the Scottish music scene with a fresh canvas to start working on in 2023. His first single 'Forgive & Forget' was released on Friday 27th September 2024 and has already been a featured song for Jim Gellatly's Amazing Radio showcase. 'Forgive & Forget' was also one of ten songs selected for the Scottish Alternative Music Awards (SAMA's) September 2024 music roundup playlist. Johnny aims to keep up momentum already generated through numerous well-received shows with Winter Springs and his solo career.
