About

The Southside Group bring Hans Christian Andersen’s iconic tale vibrantly to life. A story of the struggle between good and evil, of magic and love, and of change.

Featuring ice-skating, robbers, a woman who understands a little of magic, a street-wise raven, a talking reindeer… and some strange advice!

The Southside Group’s unique interpretation of Andersen's epic story follows Gerda on her journey to save her friend, Kai, from the ice-cold embrace of The Snow Queen.

‘I loved this, have told plenty of people all about it and would thoroughly recommend you take your creatively critical eye and go and learn what it is like to emerge from lockdown with your art intact’.
Donald Stewart, The Fringe Review (on The Southside Groups’ The Peabody Chronicles)

The Southside Group was formed, by The Occasion, to increase opportunities for learning disabled adults to become actively involved in theatre. Since the group began in January 2020, shortly before the first Covid lockdown, TSG has produced several on-line works. The Snow Queen is the group’s first live, public performance.

Performances:
Thursday 1 December - 7.30pm
