Former Runrig frontman Donnie Munro and Highland pop band Tide Lines have been announced as headliners for a brand-new festival beside Loch Lomond.

‘Loch Lomond Live’ will take place at Drymen Show Field on Saturday 22nd and 23rd September and promises to offer over 50 live acts from across the country, plus local food and drink, as well as a host of family fun.

As well as Tide Lines and Donnie Munro – who will perform a mixture of Runrig favourites plus his own material – the eclectic line-up also features Scottish Trad ‘Live Act of the Year 2016’ Trail West, popular bagpipe pop band Rollin’ Drones, tribal rockers Clann An Drumma and Scotland’s favourite Ed Sheeran Tribute – De Sheeran.

But it doesn’t just stop at the music; the festival has also confirmed there will be a range of stalls & attractions, plus water and land-based activities, street food (including local produce), licensed bars, and a dedicated ‘VIP Area’.

A festival spokesperson said, “We’ve been working on this for a while, and we’re delighted to finally announce all details – It’s fantastic to welcome big names such as Donnie Munro & Tide Lines to Loch Lomond, alongside some of the best upcoming bands from across the country”.

The festival has promised to engage with the local community, offering a platform for locally based acts to perform, including popular festival band Have Mercy Las Vegas, folk acts The O’Cajunals & Folky Macfolk Face, and upcoming indie rock acts The Foz, Super Pumas & Unstoppable Flying Raincoats.

Residents from across the national park, along with those residing in Helensburgh, Alexandria & Dumbarton can also enjoy exclusively discounted tickets from just £20 (adult weekend) until the end of July, by entering the discount code local18 on Skiddle. Proof of address may be required on entry.

In addition, the festival has named three charity partners that it will work alongside over the course of the event. Loch Lomond’s ‘Maid of the Loch’ paddle steamer, Balloch’s CHAS Robin House Children’s Hospice and The National Autistic Society will all receive donations and support from Loch Lomond Live. Fiona McGrevey, Branches and Volunteering Development Manager at the National Autistic Society Scotland, said: “We are delighted to be part of the first-ever Loch Lomond Live and would like to thank the organisers for their support in helping to raise autism awareness, and vital funds, for our charity’s work to help autistic people living in Scotland.
