Nightvision presents Move D & Optimo on Friday 31st March 2017
We’re excited to bring you another new venue on the Nightvision series. One of the quirkiest, raw and unique spaces in the city, The Biscuit Factory. And what a lineup to launch a new venue, we give you MOVE D and OPTIMO.
Move D, aka David Moufang, one of modern electronic music’s most beloved souls.
His discography is as long as it is vastly impressive, holding releases on the respected likes of Source, Modern Love, Workshop, Smallville, Warp, Running Back, Uzuri and Electric Minds among others plus collaborations and involvements in projects like Magic Mountain High (w. Juju & Jordash) and Reagenz (w. Jonah Sharp).
Both his productions and DJ sets always touch on house conventions but it’s in the way they’re delivered in his own incomparable style, that leaves everyone – from longtime fans to the uninitiated – with their jaws on the floor and their hands flailing above their heads.
Headlining alongside Move D, the mighty Glaswegian duo of Twitch & Jonny Wilkes AKA Optimo shall be making their first Nightvision appearance.
Optimo began at the legendary Sub Club in 1997, and have since become renowned, respected worldwide, touring extensively with their infamous party sound.
With a series of critically acclaimed mix compilation releases – How to Kill The DJ part 2, Psych Out, Sleepwalk, In Order To Edit, Fabric 52 and Dark Was The Night (Endless Flight), Optimo have become one of the most well known artists in underground dance music. Their unique sound demonstrates a head-messing disregard for genres, where rhythms often strike out into territories far beyond the normal boundaries of a club night.
Warming up will be Edinburgh's own Telfort who has been making waves both as a DJ and producer with his self-release 12s, garnering recognition across the globe and championed by none other than Move D himself, along with the likes of Axel Boman, Smallpeople, Moxie and Hunee.
