Four of Scotland's leading jazz musicians play with fire, invention and teamwork

Playtime on Saturday 16th February 2019

In February 2014, saxophonist Martin Kershaw, guitarist Graeme Stephen, bassist Mario Caribe and drummer Tom Bancroft got together to play music regularly in the loft space of the Outhouse Bar in Broughton Street Lane, just round the corner from Edinburgh's tram York Place terminus.

Within a short time they had become a band with a reputation for covering the jazz repertoire from tributes to the giants - Coltrane, Miles, Monk - to new compositions and freely improvised pieces.

Their now fortnightly sessions are a central plank of the Edinburgh jazz calendar and produce creativity and a mutual understanding make for hugely satisfying music.

They don't play 'away from home' often so this visit to the intimate room at St James in Leith is an event to be savoured with high quality guaranteed.
