Laura Macdonald Quartet on Saturday 20th October 2018

Laura Macdonald is one of the UK's most talented saxophonists and composers. She has worked with many top musicians, including saxophonists Tommy Smith and Donny Macaslin, pianists Jason Rebello and David Berkman and drummers Jeff 'Tain' Watts and Antonio Sanchez, and for several years occupied the alto saxophone chair with the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra.

Her recordings include the eponymous Laura in 2001, which featured pianist David Budway, bassist James Genus and drummer Jeff 'Tain' Watts, and Awakenings in 2003 with her own sextet and she subequently recorded Duets with New York pianist David Berkman.

She currently leads a quartet comprising some of Scotland's foremost jazz players including guitarist Kevin Mackenzie and bassist Mario Caribe.
