Edinburgh Foraging Courses with wild food uk on Friday 29th May 2020
The Pentland Hills Regional Park is a breathtakingly beautiful area covering 10,000 hectacres of Scottish countryside. On these courses, we usually find a range of tasty spring shoots and in the summer a wide variety of some of the best edible mushrooms around.
We’ll meet at The Flotterstone Inn and the course begins with a short introduction on what to look for and a brief of the Countryside Act.
Then we’ll set off on a roughly 2.5 hour walk around the Flotterstone area of the Pentlands, teaching you how to identify the different plants and mushrooms that we find.
We will stop along the way for some seasonal homemade refreshments such as our lovely hogweed and wild garlic soup, elderflower champagne or fruit leathers.
Then it’s back to the Flotterstone Inn for a tasty wild food lunch based on what we have found and a few preprepared homemade treats.
After the course, we will email you a list of everything we talk about on the day to help you to remember what you have learnt.
Please see website for full details of times and further course dates at this venue.
