About

Departure Lounge is back for one-night only in celebration of all the good times we shared in The Caves between 2003 and 2013.
For 10 years Departure Lounge flew the flag with a tasty stew of nu-jazz, broken beats, modern funk, Brazilian sounds, hip-hop, afrobeat and leftfield electronica in the historic venue which the promoters discovered in 2003. DL was the first club to run in the Caves. The club ran for almost 10 years and hosted the likes of Bonobo, Gilles Peterson, Azymuth, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Floating Points + Fatima, Patrick Forge, Jazztronik, DJ Kentaro and many more.
Join original residents Chris + Mark aka Astroboy & Mr Z as we roll back the years and respin some classic tunes, with Cammy on percussion.
We also welcome high-flying Glasgow jazz-fusion group Nimbus Sextet who's blisteringly funky sound bagged them a deal on the iconic Acid Jazz label. On the decks we welcome the one and only Dolphin Boy who played at the very first DL, and our current fave local selectors Femme45 who also come via Glasgow. It's a line-up we would have been proud of back in the day!
Giving thanks for all the music, friends and good times we shared and continue to share based on the foundations that this club laid for us.
