Did someone reorder a (Dan) Shake?!?

We're ridiculously excited to announce that we've invited back the one, the only, the sublime Mr Dan Shake for his second outing at Hectors.

Since playing our Halloween Shindig on a Monday in 2016, Dan's career has been very much on an upward trajectory. He's continued to play many of the finest venues/festivals around the world including Prince Charles (Berlin), Corsica Studios (London), The Jazz Cafe (London), IPSE (Berlin), The Berkeley Suite (Glasgow), and, perhaps of most importance to him, he closed the main stage of Dimensions on the Friday last September (the festival where he famously handed our past guest Moodymann a CD of his productions which ultimately led to being signed to Mahogani Music and his career properly kicking off!). In 2017 Dan started a new series of vinyl-only limited releases called Shake Tapes which feature DJ friendly cuts of some of his favourite records. This year alone, he's already released the brilliantly titled 'Shake’s On A Plane' on Marcel Vogel's Lumberjacks In Hell label, and made another Boiler Room appearance, this time at Sugar Mountain in Melbourne alongside Project Pablo, our past guest, Honey Dijon, firm-favourite, Gerd Janson, and Fantastic Man (has there been a vibsier Boiler Room line-up to date? - we can’t think of one).

For those unaware of Dan and his career to date, here are the essentials. He's perhaps best known as the first ever non-Detroit artists to be signed to KDJ's Mahogani Music, and since then he's released records on Black Acre and our past guest, Jimpster's Delusions Of Grandeur. Aside from his stunning production, the main reason why we books artists is for their selection skills, and Dan always brings the party when/where he plays - he did when he played for us back in 2016 and he has whenever we've seen him play around the UK.

Shake will headline our first ever Hector's Mirror Dance guest event with a three hour set. This is taking place on Friday 2nd March at Bourbon, the venue we've used previously to welcome Jackmaster (twice), Black Coffee, Harri & Dom, and Elliot Adamson to the capital.

The Mirror Dance ressies, Paddy D & Paddy DD aka Taisce, are on room 1 warm-up duties (oioi), whilst the capital's newest crew, seventyseven, will host room 2. Soundtracking the bar is one of Scotland's longest running nights, No Strings Attached. Justin Wilson & Steve Cass most recently got our Optimo & Dominic Cappello party at Fireside in December nicely warmed-up, so we're looking forward to having the pair play all night long this time.

There are few selectors out there that we rate as highly as Dan, so we’re super-excited to let him loose on a Rane mixer and one of the capital's finest sound systems. We hope you can join us for a dance 💃🕺
