Vote 100: Born a Rebel, Durham on Saturday 3rd November 2018

“What are your demands?”
This is the question being posed to our panelists on 3 November as we all settle down to a tea party, suffragette-style - in front of a panel of fascinating women.
Namely: Lijou Thompson (Diverse Women’s Network), Joyce McCarty (Newcastle City Council), Lady Kitt (Nasty Women North East) and Ciara Stewart (Durham University).
It is also the question we at Cinema For All will be asking YOU, as we put the world to rights and watch a screening of The Divine Order, a new drama-comedy about Swiss women’s fight to win the vote during the 1970s (picture Made in Dagenham, only snowier and more... Alpine).
Accompanying the feature will be a wonderful new short film – commissioned by Cinema for All from the Yorkshire, North East and North West Film Archives – that charts the story of women in British public life over the last 100 years.
Children’s workshop
During all of the suffrage-themed fun, we will be teaming up with manga pros Mayamada to host a workshop in which children of any age can create their own comic books inspired by colourful characters from the women’s suffrage movement.
The event will start at 12pm on Saturday 3 November in Shakespeare Hall, Durham.
