Funhouse Comedy Club - Comedy Night on Sunday 27th May 2018

Funhouse Comedy Club, which already runs successful nights at various venues all over the country, is excited to announce the launch of their brand new comedy night at Swadlincote Ski Centre.

Funhouse Comedy Clubs are renowned for having exceptionally friendly audiences and a brilliant atmosphere which have led to twice winning Best Midlands Comedy Club awards with leading comedy website Chortle. Previous acts to have played its clubs on their road to fame and fortune include Sarah Millican, Russell Kane, Jack Whitehall and Rhod Gilbert, who described the clubs as “among the best anywhere in the world.'

Headlining is the amusing and friendly Scott Bennett, runner up in 2014 English Comedian Of The Year competition and who has recently supported both Michael McIntyre and Rob Brydon. This loveable rising star enthrals the crowd with his warm and engaging delivery, he is a Yorkshire live wire with an undeniable no nonsense logic.

Supporting will be multi-award winning 'Kiwi' Sully O'Sullivan. He won his first national award less than 12 months after his first attempt at stand-up and has been acknowledged as a highlight of the New Zealand International Comedy Festival by The NZ Herald and a highlight of the Glasgow International Comedy Festival by The Scotsman. Enthusiastically self-assured, his sharp ire and amusing playfulness draws the audience into his world, where they are happy to stay.

Also appearing will be writer, singer and comedian Ruth Cockburn with her particularly potent mix of spot-on, slightly surreal social commentary and brilliantly inventive, hummable and instantly hilarious songs.

Compere for the night will be the genial and naturally witty Chris Brooker, with his amusing improvisations.
