Andrew Ashong's live shows are a constant evolution, and as part of Croydon Calling, the Gilles Peterson Worldwide Award winner will be mixing up his sweet soul vibes with some heavy beats for this unique live set.
Andrew Ashong, hailing from Forest Hill by way of Ghana has been titled as an essential listen by many music blogs. The Ghanaian-British artist had his first solo release on Theo Parrish's label, Sound Signature. The title track, 'Flowers' won 'Track of the Year' at Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Awards 2013.
When asked, what is behind the excitement of this record, Theo Parrish replied 'The Funk. Right under my nose were all the essential elements: simplicity, drive, and honesty gained from heartfelt experience in Andrew Ashong's music. It's more than just that. It's human.'
Bringing this to the fabulous intimate setting of The Front Room's purpose built live music space is going to make for one very special night!
