Cheshire Autumn Foraging Course on Saturday 3rd November 2018
We’re excited to be running Autumn courses at Marbury Country Park, a beautiful new Cheshire venue on the edge of Budworth Mere. The mixture of open grassland, woodland and brooks makes this park perfect for foraging. We’ll be meeting at the picnic benches at 12pm for a short introduction on what to look for and a brief of the general countryside codes, where they relate to foragers. After the talk we’ll set off for a 2-3 hour walk around the park identifying the different edible and poisonous plants, fruits and mushrooms that we find. There will be breaks along the way for some homemade refreshments such as our lovely wild mushroom soup. We will finish the day off with a tasty wild food lunch based on what we have found. This will include some tasty treats made from our recent finds, a wild salad we’ll pick on the day and a mushroom dish that we’ll cook in front of you. After the walk we will email you details of all the plants and mushrooms we find to help you remember what you have learnt.
There are limited spaces available so please book your tickets online.
