Review of The Open Arms
we arrived about 6.45pm, so not late. by then the place was packed. after 15 minutes in the enormous queue for a drink we had moved about 5m and estimated at least another 20 minutes to go. all seats and tables taken - only option was to sit on dusty grass. couples are sitting on tables for 6 and covering the rest of the seating with bags so you're put off joining them. others arranging lots of tables in camps. just selfish behaviour really. but the fact is that this venue is not providing enough seating or catering facilities for the number of tickets sold. i would have been irritated if this had been free to get in. the fact that we paid for tickets makes it much worse. very disappointing on a joint birthday night out. so we gave up and left, went into town instead. i shall NOT be tempted to go back. my advice: don't bother, or if you do go as soon as it opens, or take your own seating and table.

Review of The Open Arms
The setting was absolutely fabulous and, on the whole, we had a really enjoyable evening. The venue was spotlessly clean and our tables were regularly cleared of empties and rubbish. The food was very good and we thoroughly enjoyed our choices, however, the range was disappointing; we had expected to see much more on offer in terms of food stands. Also, the bar situation needs to be addressed - how can a beer garden, patronised by hundreds, be served adequately by two inadequately staffed bars? I must admit, we did tire of queuing up for half an hour every time we required refreshment.

Review of The Open Arms
When we have visited this event in the past it was table service which was amazing. Last night the queues for drinks and food were so big. The one drinks van had four people serving, but they seemed to be serving one person at a time between them. We only stayed about an hour as we didn’t want to queue for another half hour for a drink.
Real shame as the venue in our home town is amazing. I don’t think we would be booking again.

Review of The Open Arms
Disappointed by the lack of vendors, only 6 (2 selling drinks, 1 pudding & 3 food options). Poor offering compared to other digbeth dining events I’ve been to at local parks. Shame as nice setting at the castle. No live music or anything to entertain the kids either
