The Herbert Art Gallery & Museum is located in the cultural heart of Coventry city centre, next to the historic Cathedral. Having recently undergoing a £20 million redevelopment it has 8 permanent galleries displaying its collections and now also houses the History Centre, media suites, a shop, café and 4 temporary galleries displaying large-scale touring exhibitions from around the world.
The Herbert prides itself in being a family friendly venue and in 2010 was named Best Family Friendly Museum in the Country in the Guardian Family Friendly Awards.
Its work in developing new audiences, engaging with the diverse local community and its cutting edge media projects were also recognised by the Art Fund Prize 2010 with the venue reaching the final four in the competition.
In the last year 320,000 people visited our venue.
Entry, activities, workshops and events are all completely FREE of charge.
