Coventry Wild Food Foraging and Cookery Course on Sunday 29th July 2018
Warwickshire Wildlife Trust has kindly given us permission to offer a Wild Food Foraging Walks at Bubbenhall Wood and Meadow. Two very different habitats offer a range of edible plants and mushrooms to learn about. This hidden away reserve is located close to Coventry and Rugby, and within easy reach of Hinckley, Lutterworth, Birmingham and Stratford-upon-Avon.
When we meet up, we will go through the basics of foraging before heading out to explore woodland, hedgerows, and meadows.
During the walk, I will introduce you to a number of edible species, giving you tips on harvesting, correct identification, and recipe ideas. You'll also get to sample a range of delicious wild food treats, which could include alcohol infusions, salts, pickles, syrups, cordials, and preserves, along the way.
On returning to our meeting point, we will have a quick break while sorting through and cleaning up our ingredients. Then we start on the cookery side of our course, where we will all play a part in preparing our wild ingredients to create a delicious meal for us all to enjoy.
Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted on the course.
