UBER Presents: Denis Sulta / Sarah Story + Ki Creighton on Sunday 26th December 2021
We simply couldn’t resist one last sesh for 2021! Are you sitting comfortably?……… good……. now let’s get down to it: Boxing Day, The Venue, Denis Sulta, Sarah Story.
Yes yes yes!! We really can’t wait for this one. With his distinctive look and even more distinctive take on musical performance, Denis Sulta has been on our radar for a while. He plays absolutely anything and he does it with the most infectious energy known to man. Expect techno, house and genre-defying curveballs, and expect to lose yourself in a state of psychotic lunacy. You’re gonna be taken on a crazy journey, spun around and spat out the other end without a moment to catch your breath… don’t say we didn’t warn you!
Sulta cut his teeth in his native Glasgow with a string of releases on Dixon Avenue Basement Jams, Numbers and his very own Sulta Selects; and quickly gained a reputation as a maverick party starter with his DJing in Glasgow and Edinburgh. It wasn’t long before he made it big, and nowadays can boast an unenviable global touring schedule and regular slots at the likes of the Warehouse Project and ADE. And just for good measure, he’s been signed to one of the most prestigious institutions in dance music, Ninja Tune, and he won Best DJ at the DJ Mag Best of British Awards. This really is a man of the moment, but you know he’s going to be here to stay.
Which leads us nicely to another rising star, Sarah Story. We expect a lot of you already know her. She’s a Dalston girl, a former presenter on CFM, and recently she was bestowed the honour of hosting Radio One’s Future Dance, taking over from our old mate: the legendary Annie Mac. Those are mighty big shoes to fill but by God she’s filling them! Hot off the back of gigs at the Warehouse Project and a soiree alongside Fatboy Slim, she’s sure to be on top form when she comes back home for a festive bash with old friends. New music with a smile on its face - that’s her style.
Like our jam-packed night with Solardo, this is going to be a whole load of musical fun. Not even a global health crisis has stopped us smashing it this year, so we urge you to leave any pretentious shite at the door and give it all you’ve got.
See you down the front.
