Bluesky Pie Records presents New Music 2018 Album Launch on Saturday 16th June 2018

The South East’s legendary nonforprofit record label and promoters Bluesky Pie Records are releasing their eagerly anticipated, compilation album #NewMusic2018, which features ten of the most exciting upcoming artists you need to know about this year. As part of the Open Quarter, Bluesky Pie Records will host an intimate unplugged chill out session in the afternoon at The Clearing, presenting three eclectic multi-genre artists. Six dynamic live bands continue the showcase at The Auditorium in the evening. Expect to hear the best hard rock, indie, psychedelia, pop and more, from amazing grassroots artists.

Liotia, Cartoon People and Eleusia will perform an acoustic/unplugged set at the Quarterhouse bar The Clearing in the afternoon from 2pm. In the evening, we will be joined at 7pm by Tokyo Tea Room, Kavanagh, Rattlesnake, Casey Lake, Strife Darko and Dreamweaver. Tickets to the evening performance are £7, and £5 concessions. The event is 16+, and under 16’s are welcome with adults.

Since 2009, Bluesky Pie Records have put on over 150 gigs, championing over 250 artists. You may remember their “Love Live” Festival at the Leas Cliff Hall, where Mercury Prize nominated Slaves headlined, just before they broke big. Their greatest achievement was running a nationwide competition with the charity Last Night A DJ Saved My Life, to find the best upcoming unsigned DJ in the country, and resulted in the first ever gig at the House of Commons, where Fat Boy Slim headlined.

The label nurtures the thriving and incredible live music scene in the South East and their passion for grassroots music is spread to all areas of the UK. They are whole heartedly an ethical record label and music publishing company. Their aim is to give bands the very best chance of moving to the next level of their careers by using their considerable contacts in the industry, and signing only the most exciting emerging talent.

They educate bands about what they need to profit from their talent, helping them make music, record EPs, provide artwork, links to promoters and much more. Bluesky Pie Records are proud members of AIM, the home of independent music, PRS and PPL.
