Alfie Moore is your June comedy headliner at Willingham! on Friday 29th June 2018
Custard Comedy is back at Willingham on June 29th! Our latest night, at Willingham Social Club, features the copper turned comic Alfie Moore. The night begins at 8.15pm and tickets start at just £10.
Alfie Moore is an original and distinctive comedian with his niche area as a serving police sergeant.
Born and raised on a council estate in Sheffield he was an apprentice in the steelworks before joining the Police where he has served for eighteen years, gathering a wealth of hilarious stories that you ‘just couldn’t make up’.
He has an observational comedic style, which lends itself to witty, and sometimes gritty, anecdotes based on everyday modern policing.
Alfie was one of the stars of ‘Show Me The Funny’ (ITV) and wrote and presented ‘Alfie Moore’s Almanac’ for BBC Radio. His BBC Radio 4 comedy series ‘IT’S A FAIR COP’ debuted in July 2014. A fourth series has been commissioned for 2018. “… a genuinely lovely, accomplished comic with a huge following both live and on the radio. Wonderful, warm, funny….. with thought-provoking stuff and real shocks”. Kate Copstick – The Scotsman
For over a decade Dan Evans' accessible but childish surrealism has delighted audiences throughout the UK and Ireland. He's also had his grammar corrected by Dutch and German crowds; performed for chubby sweating ex-pats in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Singapore and Thailand, and is one of just two UK comics to play Hanoi, Vietnam. He's appeared on BBC 2's 'Brain Candy', 'Channel 5 at The Store' and the Channel 5'Comedy Zone', Radio 2's 'Stand Up Show' and '28 acts in 28 minutes' on Radio 4. 'A favourite with audiences as well as with his notoriously hard-to-please comedic peers' The Guardian.
Since his stand up debut in 2008, Pete Teckman has made the progression from open mic nights and gong shows through to regular paid work thanks to his ability to produce laughs from any audience. He has a mix of self deprecating and observational humour as well as some surreal flights of fancy and a liberal sprinkling of well crafted gags. “Very solid, well constructed gags.” Glee Club.
MC - James Cook. James is a professional comedian based in Birmingham, UK, with over 1,000 gigs worth of experience. His act has been described as “truly original” (Danny Wallace (off of the telly)) whereas he’s been called “suave and chirpy” by the Bromsgrove Advertiser.
