Rossini 'Petite messe solennelle' on Sunday 30th June 2019
We end this season with our final concert programme, Rossini's 'Petite messe solennelle'.
Scored originally for twelve singers (four of them soloists), two pianos and harmonium, this piece was written in 1863, some 30 years after Rossini had retired from composing operas. It was later scored for orchestra, but we're delighted to present the piece accompanied by harmonium (Anne Page) and piano (Clare Bullimore).
Philippa Boyle (soprano)
Jessica Lawrence-Hares (mezzo)
Tom Raskin (tenor)
Joseph Kennedy (bass)
Music Genres: Choral, Classical
