Review of The Outside Inn presents: The Contacts Motown

Prices were extortionate for drinks. Bar staff under age and didn't know what a gin and tonic was. Gave small measures for shirts and pints until challenged about it. Food was overpriced... 4x salty chips and 2 pizzas for £40. Event guide said bbq from 5 and event starts at 7pm. The band were doing a sound check when we got there at 6.30, no bbq to be seen, food had to be ordered at the bar. The band eventually started at 8.45 for and hour, then after their break, they played for another hour, at which time we left having spent £182 on food and drink, 70 on a taxi, plus the babysitters fee and £52 for 4 tickets.

Ps. No sign of anyone if its being today let alone drunk!

We have used the spa facility and hotel before and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay. But for what we got last night for wrote a bit of money, it would not be a venue we would return to.
Sorry.

all good BUT waited till 8.45 for the music to start - it was advertised as 7 p.m. and the bbq supposed to be at 5, didnt matieralise till much later - just as well we decided to eat before going !!!
the group had a sound check guy who stood with a tablet the whole time but the sound was not well mixed- guitars too loud and you couldnt hear what the singers were saying most of the time - not a job well done !! NEXT TIME, BE CLEAR WHEN THE MUSIC STARTS - SOME PEOPLE DONT LIKE WAITING AROUND FOR SOMETHING TO START

no ticket checked on entry. bar staff didn't know products or acknowledge customers. one time they were out the back eating pizza when 3 people were waiting to be served. second round of drinks was more expensive than first round with one less drink.

Despite it not being very busy, my friends and I had a great evening. The silent disco was so much fun and I’m sad that I missed numbers 1 and 2. Please could there be a number 4 before the end of the season 😁

The band were fantastic, 2 critisms were it was advertised as 7 to 11. Although the band played from 9 till 11 maybe due to inclement weather was hardly anyone there. Maybe next time you could arrange early music on to dance to instead of just sitting and waiting for the band at 9

We got there at 7.30 to find the band didnâ??t start until 9pm, the venue was empty only 50 tickets sold, most of the tickets were sold to a hen do. Me and my wife left at 10pm.

Got there for 6pm and nothing had started. Nothing till 9pm till 9pm music started
No bbq awful. Only about 15 people there should have been cancelled.
Funk odysey were brilliant
Was not worth the money at all.
Ate in the bar restaurant . Lovely food.

Would like mobey back actually

Music absolutely brilliant.
Venue ok but could do with a proper dance floor. Also, my ticket says the the timings are 7pm until midnight. The band didn't start until much later and then finished at 10.50pm saying the management has said they must finish then.
Our tickets were not scanned so could have been there without paying anyway.
