About

Notorious and outspoken Andrew is known for his dark humor and sharp social commentary, often courting controversy. He rose to prominence with appearances on platforms like Live at the Apollo and BBC Radio 4, where his writing and performances in shows such as What To Do If You’re Not Like Everybody Else? showcased his wit and range. His style blends self-deprecating humor with incisive critiques of societal norms, which has earned him both critical acclaim and a polarised audience.

Lawrence’s career milestones include accolades at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and nominations for major comedy awards, underlining his impact on the UK comedy scene. Despite these achievements, his outspokenness has sparked significant backlash, most notably a 2014 social media post that critiqued political correctness in comedy, drawing accusations of bigotry. This controversy was explored in the 2016 Sky Arts documentary The Outcast Comic, which examined his challenges with censorship and his position as a provocateur in comedy.

Lawrence has also embraced digital platforms, building a sizable following on YouTube where he further explores contentious topics. His work invites both laughter and debate, ensuring his place as one of comedy’s most divisive figures. We are delighted to present him at this very special gig.
