Hip Hop Coffee Shop Sessions #9: VRBL Takeover on Friday 29th November 2019

We’re back again for our 9th show, ready to once again bring together hip hop lovers and caffeine addicts alike. This time, we’re inviting a homegrown label to the coffee house to showcase their gripping roster and it’s gonna go OFF.

💥 Gabriel Waves
💥 Fabien Darcy
💥 Press1
💥 Riski

💥OPEN MIC with Mr Hare

First up we have creative director of VRBL records and rising star of Bristol, Gabriel Waves! Waves combines some boppy bars with some melodic RnB hooks, creating a beaut masterpiece that is sure to get your toe tappin’.

Make sure you check out his newest track, “Back 2 Me” right now, it goes proper harddddd mate!

Next up we have the Italian Stallion himself, Yung Toro. As the in-house producer for VRBL, Toro has a library of tunes under his belt varying from boom bap to trap, plus an arsenal of rhymes to lay over the top. A true all-rounder and a yung prodigy.

Check the new vid for “Guaming” to get a taste of what’s to come from this one!

Coming up next is the almighty Fabien Darcy. Born with music literally in his blood as the son of techno legend Dave Angel, Fabien’s melodic tunes will definitely put a smile on your face and a spark in your day. He’s got the cheeky bars with the loveable hooks and he’s definitely one to watch.

Check this chilla of a tune from earlier in the year, “1995” - it’ll make you feel some kinda way!

The lil rippa that is SYLLA B will of course also be joining the rest of the VRBL clan on the night. He’s not been in the scene for long, but he’s definitely let us all know of his arrival ever since. He draws influences from both grime and hip hop to create some explosive bangers that are impossible to ignore - and the best part is, he’s only just getting started.

His most recent EP is an absolute BANGER and one you’ll be gutted you’ve missed, so make sure you jump on the “Ignored” hype ASAP >>https://open.spotify.com/album/3z5X2QcoocSg5pkHglUhtN?si=f650rVAlTTiGShVhEHWtug&fbclid=IwAR0m3rRSDvcLoCLN5brLb_ODcPZcXzbxWJWlJ5vcOo5aICLs90u8R6e71BU

Last of the VRBL lads is the almighty Press1. He’s got a voice that is recognisable from miles, and he’s got some tunes that are truly unforgettable. As a Don't Flop Entertainment champion, he’s got the witty bars that make you screw ya face up, and an attitude that leaves other MCs quaking in their boots. A real Bristol legend.

His newest track, “All Up In My” has just got its whole own video and it’s just as cracking as the tune is! Make sure to check it! >> https://youtu.be/5r5EyP2HXVs

As if you thought we’d do a show without him?! Coming up next, faster than a rocket is our main man, Riski. After recently featuring on Dr Syntax and Pete Cannon’s new album, “Wallop”, there is very little that can stop the rise of the R I S K I. A true rising star, and one of our personal favourites in Bristol. He is NEVER one to miss.

Mr Hare

As always, we will have our favourite mammal Mr Hare on the open mic. Recently supporting hip hop legend Sugarhill Gang on their UK tour, Mr Hare always provides the boppy and the dutty tunes for ya’ll to spit your bars to and show us what you got.
