Folkroom By Sea on Thursday 23rd November 2017
Folkroom returns for our penultimate gig of the year at the Village bar and café. We've had a wonderful time bringing fine new folk acts to Brighton these last few months, and this may be our finest line-up yet:
MERLYN DRIVER - Merlyn's stunning EP 'This is the Corner of a Larger Field' came out back in May and remains one of the most stunning releases of 2017. His songs, which draw on all sorts of terrific and varied influences, stand apart from anything else we're listening to right now. A tremendous, and immensely inspiring songwriter, unparalleled in folk music today.
JACK HARRIS - Arguably the most renowned live act within the last seven years of Folkroom events, Jack Harris complements his already fine musicianship and his gilted folk lyrics with an unrelentingly brilliant wit. Very much the Dorothy Parker of Folkroom, if Dorothy Parker looked like a weathered Domhnall Gleason and made grand, dignified folk music.
Folkroom By Sea is entirely free, though we will make a small no-pressure-at-all-we-swear collection so we can do our best to temporarily postpone the musicians' deaths by starvation.
Music Genres: Country/Americana, Folk, Indie, Pop
