Music Nest on Saturday 8th June 2019
Music Nest organise grownup gigs that welcome kids and aim to bring top quality live music to The Brunswick at a reduced volume, with more light, activities for children and a relaxed atmosphere to noise, breastfeeding and all the other things that come with having children! It's a space that's designed to not just tolerate children but welcome them. The gigs are open to anyone who has a ticket and is up for listening to music in a relaxed and family friendly environment. More details can be found at www.musicnest.co.uk. In June we have the following amazing lineup!
Brighton's Cate Ferris has produced critically acclaimed albums, played at festivals across Europe and been featured on an international ad campaign so we're very excited to have her at Lonely Disco. Cate's music has been described as 'a transfixing, multi-layered musical voyage, delivered with haunting goose-bump on the neck vocals'. She use hi and lo tech instruments and equipment to build beautiful melodies and soundscapes, but most what holds it all together is good old fashioned quality song writing and an unerring ear for a tune.
Michael Baker spent his teenage years travelling round Europe, living in a tent and busking to make his way, has worked tirelessly to develop his songwriting and performance skills. After studying at the world renowned ACM school he recorded his debut album working with Dan Brown and Ben Christophers (Massive Attack, Phantom Limb, Bat For Lashes and Guy Garvey). Michael's is a singer songwriter with an ear for melody and delicate touch that bely the power and depth in his work.
