Timo Maas Official Page
Rockets and Ponies

Timo Maas has been on a 30-year quest to deliver his musical wizardry to the world. In fact, music is such an intrinsic part of his DNA that it’s one of his main modes of communication. From a residency at the groundbreaking Circoloco at DC10 in Ibiza, where he has been entrenched for over 15 years, to tours around Europe and the rest of the world, Timo Maas maintains a high level of performance. The visionary German also dedicates his time to conjuring up fresh new productions in his studio. His international recognition began with his seminal remix of ‘Dooms Night’ by Azzido Da Bass. Adopted by the UK’s garage scene, it launched him on to the world stage and he was soon being courted by a plethora of superstars from Madonna to Depeche Mode and Fatboy Slim to Muse.

He has produced three albums, ‘Loud’ in 2001, ‘Pictures’ in 2005 and, most recently, ‘Lifer’ in 2013.There’s depth, emotion and subtlety in his creations, spliced with beats and basslines to make even the most lacklustre dance floor get a little crazy. Ultimately, he is an artist whose roots lie within the club environment. He is a DJ first and foremost, injecting his experience in the booth to his artistry in the studio and consistently demonstrating his ability to connect with any crowd he is in front of. From closing the main stage at Bencasim after Blur, numerous Glastonbury and Ants Ibiza performances, regular appearances at institutions such as Warung Beach Club, right through to his intense and intimate shows at smaller venues.

Timo’s last album, ‘Lifer’, included collaborations with a diverse range of artists including Placebo’s Brian Molko, James Lavelle and Mikill Pane. Since that release, he has connected with James Teej of My Favorite Robot, working closely with the Canadian, which has led to a series of exciting projects. Most recently a remix for Black Butter Records and an incredible collaboration with Paul McCartney on Virgin, that saw the pair reinvigorate an old classic. The single, 'Nineteen Hundred And Eighty Five', took the world of dance music by storm with its mysterious white label debut and support from pivotal Radio 1 names such as Pete Tong and Annie Mac; it scored Timo his second Grammy nomination, the first of which he received in 2004. On the solo front Timo has been busier than ever, with original productions and remixes for the underground right up to the pop world. Artists like Kidnap Kid and Loco Dice, through to Roisin Murphy & Morcheeba - all benefitting from his expert touch in recent times, not to mention the ‘Once Upon A Time’ EP released on Sasha's legendary Last Night On Earth label. In conjunction with his studio work, Timo maintains his own label, Rockets & Ponies, which has been releasing the best electronic music for almost a decade. Artists from Acid Mondays to Maetrik, from Addison Groove to Nightmares On Wax, from Alan Fitzpatrick to Ion Ludwig have been featured on the imprint and in particular, an EP comprising of Ricardo Villalobos' remixes of famous German jazz drummer Wolfgang Haffner.

Looking to the future Timo has forthcoming EP’s on Joris Voorn’s eminent Rejected label and a return to My Favourite Robot. Not only this but a remix of the fabled Porcelain by Moby on his own Rockets & Ponies label. As time passes by, Timo Maas remains relevant, hungry and bursting with ideas. Never looking to the past, always in the here and now. From his formative years, in a small town called Bückeburg, up to today, Timo Maas has retained a love and passion for making and playing music that is indelibly etched into his psyche. It makes him the man he is today; driven, positive, infinitely creative and full of magic.

Straddling House and Disco with a unique twist and an eye for the underground NOLAN is making serious waves right now, with key releases on Kittball, MadTech, Crew Love, Get Physical, OFF, Gruuv & Connaisseur Recordings.

His collaboration with legendary actor Idris Elba caused quite a stir with it's no nonsense anti EDM stance. The vinyl release of which, with its analog heavy Of Norway remix featured as the opening track on John Digweed's Transitions radio show which then led to the NOLAN guest mix on show 511.

NOLAN's debut release 'Thief' which was snapped up by New York's Nurvous Records, making its way into the discerning boxes of Maceo Plex & Wolf + Lamb. His follow up EP was released on vinyl by the exquisite Connaisseur Recordings, with a bumping Paradise Garage-inspired disco track alongside a stunning revision of an MK classic. Followed by a sizzling hot vinyl EP on Audiojack's GRUUV imprint with remixes courtesy of John Tejada and Poker Flat's Kyodai. Then came 'Go Slow' with it's choice remixes from Miguel Puente & a young Finnebassen who's remix clocked well over 5 million views on YouTube.
More recently his collaborations with Soul songstress Rachel Adedeji created a huge buzz amongst the DJ community featuring remixes from DJ T, Sharam Jey, Climbers & ATFC. Which was followed by a slew of releases on Low Steppa's Simma Black, Sleazy Deep, ALiVE, King Street, Dear Deer, Sakura Music & a vinyl release on Sex Panda White with remixes from Kevin Over, Telonius (Gomma) + Matt Fear & Kreature.
But it's NOLAN's collaboration with Amber Jolene, which spent an unprecedented 256 days in the Beatport NuDisco charts (100 days of which in the top 10 itself) which is proving hard to beat. The sublime remix by Danish rising star KANT resonated around Ibiza island and features on Toolroom Ibiza CD, Pure Salinas, Coco Beach, Armada Sunset + Ministry Of Sound Chilled House Ibiza compilation CDs and has also now had over 12 million views on YouTube!

Not one to rest on his laurels Nolan's next collaboration with the inimitable Forrest came out on KITTBALL featuring remixes from Hot Creations duo Raumakustik and label boss P.A.C.O. Followed by a 2 tracker ‘Dance Boy’ & ‘Cassette Tape’ on Enzo Siffredi's chart busting Wired imprint & a release on Kerri Chandler’s MadTech.

Soul Clap & Wolf + Lamb then snapped up 4 more Nolan / Forrest collaborations for an EP on their Brooklyn based Crew Love Records & a collaboration with House Music royalty Joi Cardwell recently came out on the legendary Henry Street Records.

Plus the future looks hot with SASHA asking to sign 3 more NOLAN tracks and a remix for Mr. V about to drop too! Keep them peeled for more info….

The night has also been forward thinking in terms of the type of parties (in true Berlin style), with a residency at the Green Door Store as well as alternative parties such as beach terrace parties, pop up parties, studio parties, outdoor Christmas market parties and collabs with other venues in the city. In 2020 Berlin will move to a stunning venue in the centre of the city and close to Brighton Seafront called Chalk with official Afterparties being held at Zahara two doors down until 8am.

Monica Music
Berlin - Brighton, Codesouth.FM

Two strangers enter a toilet at a Pan Pot gig, they emerge as friends, and two years later are ready to start showing the city of Brighton and the rest of the world their unique style of dance floor groovers.

Luke and Owen, aka Monica, have been members of the dance floor generation since their late teens. With a musical choice that is sometimes considered to sit just outside what the majority of people in Brighton play, and a love for the Berlin sound, it wasn't long before they were offered their first taste of limelight, when the head honcho of Nightshift Records, Sami Kubu, offered them a slot on her bi-monthly podcast. The podcast was to be released as a Halloween special in 2016. The mix was an emotional and moody eclectic mix of music both Luke and Owen love with groove from start to finish. It was well received by both listeners and Nightshift records themselves and building on their success secured a weekly radio show on Codesouth FM every Monday 20:00-22:00.

Monica were also featured in Decoded Magazine as produced a sublime Guest Mix receiving huge praise from the publisher and peers alike.

Monica have been involved in numerous Berlin-Brighton events to date supporting the likes of Timo Maas, Einmusik, Tiefschwarz, BLANCAh, Daniel Steinberg, John Digweed, Rebekah, Emanuel Satie and many more. The duo also completed a Berlin Mixtapes Guest mix for us too. Listen to it here: https://www.berlin-brighton.com/berlin-mixtapes

2019 also saw the two cofound their very own club night called 'Foucault' showcasing a range of deep, electronic and melodic events calling in on Berlin-Brighton friends Markus Saarländer and Faide on support duties.
