Barrington Levy is a pioneering Jamaican reggae and dancehall artist known as the "Mellow Canary" for his high-pitched, melodic vocals. His career began at age 14 with the hit single "Collie Weed" in 1979. He released a string of landmark albums in the early 1980s, includingEnglishman(1979) andBounty Hunter(1979).
Some of his most enduring hits include "Here I Come" (famous for its "shoo-be-doo" ad-libs), "Murderer," "Under Mi Sensi," "Black Roses," and "Too Experienced".
