Anika Nilles is a German powerhouse on the drums — a drummer, producer, and composer who first took the global drumming scene by storm in the early 2010s with her explosive YouTube performances. Since then, she’s carved out a unique space in the world of music, known for her technical precision, creative compositions, and unmistakable groove. Now, Anika returns to the UK with her band Nevell to celebrate the release of her latest album.

False Truth is a work that goes straight under your skin. It channels intense emotions, shaped by deeply personal experiences and global issues that couldn’t be more relevant right now.

One thing that truly stands out is the tribute to guitar legend Jeff Beck. She joined him on his final tour, stepping in as the successor to Vinnie Colaiuta in his band. Two tracks are dedicated to Jeff Beck, capturing his unique musicality and the profound loss of a legendary artist with stunning intensity. But this album is so much more than just a tribute. It reflects a time when the world feels both highly advanced and incredibly fragile – an era in which human connection seems to be growing ever more difficult.

Together with her band Nevell, Anika set out in the studio with one clear goal: to capture as much energy and passion as possible. The result is an album that doesn’t just shine musically, but one in which she tells her own story. “Just through the emotions that define each track, this is by far my most honest and personal album,” says Anika herself.
