Old Rope Promotions Presents... on Friday 2nd November 2018
R John Webb has travelled the length and breadth of the nation and beyond playing solo or with his band, Rhino and the Ranters. He has shared the stage with the likes of The Proclaimers, The Levellers, Tom Hiscox, The Wonder Stuff, Mark Radcliff’s Galleon Blast and many more. R John is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, poet and illustrator. His genre-defying songs are surreal, profound and poignant, and sometimes funny. There are traces of the gothic blues, folk and jazz both strange and yet familiar.
Layla Tutt is a skilful songstress, fashioning tunes to groove to, tunes to move you. A lover of assonance and dissonance, she is thrilled by rhythm and rhyme. It’s the hand that dances the one to watch. Percussive, ferocious guitar strings and haunting, ethereal vocals; she’ll pull and pluck at the heartstrings, sparking up the spirit and soothing the soul.
The Temple St. Resistance are two brothers with a deep heritage in the Birmingham music scene. They play UK urban country blues with a kick: affecting lyrics, twisted melodies, stomping grooves. Heavy like a feather and as light as lead, they'll lift you and lull you and leave you flat on your back, whiskey drenched, sweat soaked, your head reeling but your soul craving more.
Music Genres: Acoustic, Blues, Country/Americana, Folk
