About

Hard Headed Women: A Rock ‘n’ Roll Celebration for Everyone!

This International Women’s Day, join Rip It Up! Promotions for Hard Headed Women, an all-day music celebration that’s loud, bold, and unapologetically inclusive. Showcasing a day of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Garage Rock, Surf, Rockabilly, Girl Group, and Sleeze genres, every act features women at the forefront. It’s more than a gig—it’s a rallying cry for representation, diversity, and the transformative power of music.

At its core, Hard Headed Women creates a space where everyone—regardless of race, sexuality, gender, faith, or background—can find their groove and express themselves. It’s rock ‘n’ roll in its purest form: breaking barriers, celebrating individuality, and inspiring freedom.

The Lineup:
Headlining the event are the unmissable London based,  The Obscuritones fusing rockabilly, country and rock 'n' roll , drawing from Icons,  Janis Martin and Wanda Jackson. They’re joined by:

The swaggering Belgian roots-rockabilly of Wild Deuces

The powerhouse charm of rock ‘n’ roll legend Lady Luck Lexy and her All-star band

Birmingham’s raw and raucous Bitter Lemons

Matlock’s punk/trash blues, dark storytellers The Mandelbrot Shakes

The fuzzy garage-punk brilliance of The Boo Tikis

All-Vinyl DJs:
Between sets, the dancefloor stays alive with music from the the mesmerising embodiment of Rock n Roll GalPower, Sunshine Cave of Cave Girl & the Neandergals and the unstoppable Rip It Up! DJs, spinning classic anthems and underground treasures.

Why It Matters:
Hard Headed Women isn’t just about women in rock 'n' roll, it’s about building a scene where everyone belongs. It’s a call for inclusivity, self-expression, and breaking down barriers in a music landscape that needs more diverse voices.

Don’t Miss Out!
