Tarantism - a psychological illness characterized by an extreme impulse to dance. Do you know anyone that suffers from Tarantism? If so send them down to Suki10c to see a specialist!
Come on then you lovely lot! The second Tarantism of 2018 is upon us & we can't wait to keep you banging about to the hardest & weirdest sounds we can gather into one small room in Brum :-)
Sir Real (House of God) Hailing from one of the most iconic techno nights in Birmingham, we have the legend that is Sir Real from none other than House of God! Born and raised in Birmingham Sir Real has been a busy boy over the last 30 years, whether it be as a drummer, DJ, producer, label-owner or promoter. For the last 25 years he has been an integral part of the Midlands club scene and is one of the four original resident DJs (alongside Surgeon, Paul 'Damage' Bailey & Terry Donovan) that runs notorious Birmingham club House of God. Now celebrating its 25th birthday making it one of the oldest constantly-running techno clubs in the UK, if not in the world, we are honored to have Sir Real down to batter you with acid, techno & all sorts of heavy wrongness.
Triple Sickz (Therapy Sessions, Mindocracy, Harder & Louder )
Triple Sickz is the work of two dark twisted bass scientists - Marc 'Onyx' Naish and Matt 'Teksteppa' Wilkins. Based in the UK, and UK Resident DJ's for the legendary Therapy Sessions. These guys have been constantly smashing it all over from Boomtown to just recently at the almighty Bangface weekender. Having released on labels such as Sustained, Mindocracy & Harder & Louder expect nothing less than hardcore drum & bass, crossbreed & anything heavy & dark.
Pixl (Amen-tal / Jungle Syndicate)
Pixl has been a mainstay on Jungle Syndicate & Amental for years now, constantly bringing out fresh jungle & breakcore tinged tunes that echo his just as banging mixes. Playing regularly at Jungle Syndicate, Amental, Fractal & festivals such as Boomtown & the Bangface weekender. Pixl will be bringing a heavy mix of beautiful jungle, dark dnb & some of the finest & hardest breakcore. It's gonna be an absolute treat.
Cybergroove (Therapy Sessions / Unified Beatz)
Cybergroove got his first taste of playing live in 1999 when he started the Terminal sound nights with a few mates. As these became more successful & a regular thing he ended up joining with a crew called Electric Kingdom. Together they hosted parties around the midlands that saw them playing alongside the likes of Tango, Ratty, Phantasy & Simon Bassline Smith. Now playing for Therapy sessions, Fractal tv, Unified Beats & Payback promotions he will be dropping plenty of the darkest dnb & crossbreed for a specially heavy set at Tarantism.
Selström Selström has been busy constructing his modular system over the last year - actually getting his soldering iron out and making some of his modules himself. Utilising this deeper understanding of hardware and a wealth of experience in production and djing he has been working on a dark and at times acidic techno sound, focused around heavy kick drums and played completely live and improvised. Following on from his killer set at the Manchester Carnival last year, forthcoming releases on Modu Heart and a collaboration turntable vs hardware b2b project with our own resident Vash in the pipeline, we’re expecting some serious dance floor damage from Selström’s live modular techno madness.
Our resident techno badboy Vashthestampede will be getting you all squelchy & then stomping you down again with his grand acid techno selections.
Tanooki Suit (Tarantism / Wastegash soundsystem)
Likes to play loud fast distorted noises to anyone that will listen. Even to people who don't. GABBA.
ALL OF THIS £6 advance or £8 on the door ;-)
