The Live Show on Saturday 10th February will shine the spotlight on Britain’s Backing Vocalist’s. With exclusive stories from the vocal shapeshifters, live music & storytelling from backing singers featuring the songs they helped make hits. Unsung Singers Live Show is at PizzaExpress Live, Birmingham on Saturday 10th February 2018. Doors will open at 6:30pm for a show time of 8:30pm.
'Unsung Singers' is the brainchild of Gina Foster, Mike Moran and Tessa Niles. Gina & Tessa have sung backing vocals for an untouchable array of stars such as David Bowie, Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner and Eric Clapton to name a few. For the first time we see them step into the spotlight. The show is the ultimate backstage pass into the world of Rock and Pop. Blending the history of British backing vocalists, with revealing storytelling, featuring the unforgettable songs the Unsung Singers have helped make hits. The Show will take a peek behind the curtain of what went on during the recording sessions and tours of some of the biggest artists in the world.
Vocalist’s Tessa Niles and Gina Foster have performed with some of the most iconic artists in music. Their biographies feature an untouchable array of stars: Eric Clapton, David Bowie, Paul McCartney, Natalie Cole, Annie Lennox, The Rolling Stones, Michael McDonald, Tina Turner, Tom Jones, Robbie Williams, Dusty and Elton John to name just a few.
M.D & piano player, Mike Moran, has contributed to some of Britain’s best-loved recordings. From Carly Simon to Freddie Mercury from Kung Foo Fighting to his memorable ‘Rockbottom’ partnership with Lyndsey De Paul for the 1977 Eurovision Song Contest. Mike’s long time collaborations with George Harrison and David Bowie have assured him a place at rock’s top table.
The Director, Graham Sinclair has directed productions including Little Malcolm and his Struggle Against the Eunuchs for which he received nominations for Best Director and Best Production in the London Fringe Awards. He co-wrote and directed Every Song Has its Play for two national tours with Gilbert O’Sullivan who also starred. While at the Royal National Theatre he directed the play, The Ballad of the Mignonette, in the Olivier Theatre. He was Artistic Director at the Manitou Theatre in Ontario where he directed The Crucible, The Dark of The Moon and Les Cenci. Other productions include Time and The Conways, Les Miserables and West Side Story.
Unsung Singers brings together the best of Britain’s backing singers in a show featuring unforgettable songs and storytelling. From the 1950’s to the present day we learn how these vocal shape shifters became a vital part of the record making process, lived life on the road and contributed to our favourite hits.
