DJs on the night:

Ray Keith

As a DJ, producer, remixer, Podcast presenter and head honcho of several record labels, Ray Keith is one of the foundations that the whole Jungle/Drum and Bass music scene has been built upon. After establishing himself as a DJ around the south east in the 80’s, Ray began producing at the start of the 90’s and after early releases on Advance Records (as Dune) and Absolute 2, he soon found himself in demand as a remixer and was asked to remix such classics as Orbital’s ‘Chime’, Baby D’s ‘Let Me Be Your Fantasy’ and Shades of Rhythm’s ‘Sweet Sensation’.

As the hardcore sound evolved into Jungle, Ray’s production skills put him at the forefront of this new sound and led to him releasing (as The Renegade alongside fellow DJ/producer Nookie) the classic track ‘Terrorist’ on the legendary Moving Shadow label in 1994. In the same year, he started his Dread Recordings label which was responsible for unleashing some of the most memorable releases of the mid 90’s Jungle era such as ‘The Chopper’, ‘Sing Time’ and ‘Dark Soldier’as well as remixing Jungle classics such as ‘Babylon’, ‘Scottie’ and DJ Rap’s ‘Spiritual Aura’. Following this Ray started another 2 labels – Penny Black and UFO both specialising in his trademark Amen-heavy production as well as releasing EP’s on the legendary V Recordings, Chronic and Emotif labels and having regular radio shows on Kiss FM and Vibe FM. Ray has fully embraced social media and can be seen on various platforms interacting with his legions of fans.

One of the scenes true innovators, The Source and Wax On are proud to welcome Ray Keith for a rare journey set through the Rave/Jungle years that he helped define with his record labels and his unique productions.

Ray celebrates 25 years of the mighty Dread Recordings this year. We salute you Sir and can’t wait for you to take over the Hare and Hounds turntables. This is going to be BIG!!!!!

DJ Seduction

DJ Seduction was originally a Hip Hop and Soul DJ and subsequently made the change in the late 80's after hearing Acid House music. Seduction was hooked and would regularly watch big name DJs like Carl Cox and Grooverider perform and this inspired him to start practising to become a DJ.

Seductions first performances were at small warehouse parties in South London but that was soon to change. In 1991 he got his first breakthrough, he produced the track 'Hardcore Heaven' originally as a white label which was subsequently signed up to the massive FFRR record label and became a great success achieving rave anthem status.

More tracks followed later in 1992, including the release of 'Come On' with a remix of 'Hardcore Heaven' on the reverse. During this period, he was signed to Carl Cox's DJ agency, this led to Seduction receiving many DJ booking and regularly playing at many of the biggest raves, like Fantazia, Dreamscape and Perception for years to come.

At the end of 1992 DJ Seduction formed the legendary Impact Records, releases such as Sub Dub and You Can Dance cemented this label in rave music history. On top of his own material DJ Seduction performed many remixes of some of the scenes biggest records as well as DJing on some full album releases. Taking the Happy Hardcore route at the end of 93, Seduction enjoyed major success as a promoter/record label boss and continued to DJ around the globe.

Recently returning to producing, releasing 2018 remixes of massive rave anthems such as the mighty ‘Sub Dub’ on his new label ‘21st Century Impact Records. He is quite rightly enjoying success again.

DJ Seduction now resides outside the UK and only performs a few events a year on these shores. We are beyond chuffed that the stars have aligned to bring him to our first collaboration event! Expect some cheeky remixes and a full on 91-93 history set by a true legend of the Rave scene.

As if this wasn’t enough!! Source resident and oldskool legend Glenn Aston will be celebrating his Brithday at this event too…..Expect a very special set from Glenn!!

Add to this sets by Source residents Gershwin and DJ-X; Wax On Residents Flinty and Diverse and you have got the recipe for one fantastic party with something for everyone covering many styles from the heyday of underground dance music 1988-96.

See you on the dancefloor.
