Hare & Hounds is probably the best venue in Birmingham. I love the fact that bands have to walk through the crowd to get to the stage, it really gives a community vibe to the whole show. Prices are fine, £5-7 for a pint and 20p for squash are about average for Birmingham. Venue were very accommodating for several people with disabilities in the audience.

Bands were both fantastic. SSD are a fantastic local young band playing earnest pop-punk/bubblegrunge. Although relatively new, by the end of their set, they had enraptured the audience in their excitable teenage energy. Me Rex are a dynamic multi-instrumentalist trio, who have recently released their new album Giant Elk. Their lively indie-pop brightened up a rainy Monday night in Birmingham. Every member of the audience was dancing and bouncing to hits that have been much championed by 6Music like Jupiter Pluvius and Skin, It Itches.
