Formed in 2014, Maison Book Girl are part of the 'new-age' wave of J-Pop groups sweeping Japanese culture, creating slick, smart, contemporary pop music,

With musician Kenta Sakurai as their core songwriter, producer and music director, they take influences from Scandinavian dream-pop, Japanese classical music, modern ambient minimalist, chiptune and video game soundtracks, it’s a multicultural melting pot of ideas, textures and soundscapes that’s typically upbeat, but also ventures to the more experimental corners of pop that the likes of Sigrid, Christine & The Queens and St Vincent are toying with to great success.

Maison Book Girl will have their first non-Japanese release on Read The Air Records.
‘Karma’ will be released on limited edition blue 7' vinyl in May 2018. https://youtu.be/uzM1sKgk43E

Read The Air Records is a collaboration between Alcopop! Records in the UK and Japanese independent label Vinyl Junkie. With a growing appetite for Japanese music from the UK audience, the aim for the label is to help share some of the best artists emerging from the Japanese scene.
