About Doc Scott

A true veteran and leading tastemaker in D&B, Doc Scott has been an essential and pivotal figure in the scene since before its inception and continues to push things forward. Founding member of ‘A Bunch Of Cuts’, his DJ sets in the mid-90s became legendary, notably at the Metalheadz Blue Note sessions and ‘Speed’. Although primarily a DJ, his productions are definitive classics within the scene, such as ‘Here Comes The Drumz’ on Reinforced, the first ever Metalheadz release ‘VIP Drumz’, to the more mellow sounds of ‘Tokyo Dawn’ on Good Looking Records. His own label 31 Records, sparked by Scott’s ground-breaking ‘Shadow Boxing’, has also been a hub for new talent, pushing some of the biggest artists today in their early days. Having recently re-launched the label, Om Unit’s remix of ‘Shadow Boxing’ is the first release of 2014, with many others to follow. The New Year also marks a fresh start for Doc Scott, as he makes his long awaited return to the studio.

About Jon Pleased Wimmin

Jon Cooper AKA Jon Pleased Wimmin is a UK DJ who grew up in London and rose to fame in the club world during the 1990’s where his flamboyant cross dressing and stylish presence became a force to be reckoned with.

After cutting his teeth as a clubber at seminal late 80’s London clubs, Jon’s career on the other side of the decks started in 1991. His 3 piece Cabaret act ‘The Pleased Wimmin’ were spotted performing at Kinky Gerlinky by Danny & Jenni Rampling who immediately invited them to come and be dancers at their club Glam at the Milk Bar.

Over the next year it became apparent to Danny that Jon was obsessive about his music and in the summer of 1991, he asked Jon if he’d like to warm up for 6 weeks whilst Danny was in Ibiza. An immediate hit with the crowd, requests for guest slots came in thick and fast and he became a regular fixture at clubs nationwide such as Puschca, Venus, Fabric, Back To Basics, Miss Moneypennies, Slam, Pacha, Space, The Pod, Ministry of Sound, Cream and Renaissance amongst many others.

Overseas beckoned and by the end of the 1990’s Jon had played pretty much everywhere from Ibiza, Buenos Aires, Japan, South America, Australia, South Africa, Singapore and more alongside the whole of Europe.

Jon’s highly stylised dress sense (he is an ex-Fashion Student) and his skill at mixing an eclectic selection of tunes garnered praise all round and throughout the 1990’s he was a regular fixture in DJ Magazine’s top 100 best DJ’s in the world, coming 6th in 1996.

He has released numerous records, including two UK top 30 hits in the mid 90’s on the Perfecto label (‘Passion’ & Give Me Strength’) along with releases in 2004 on the Wall of Sound label under the moniker ‘The Visitor’ (‘Our Lips are Sealed’ & ‘European Love’). He also remixed many artists in the 90’s such as Erasure, Divine, Michel Colombier, Mozaic and more.

In 2012 he released three of his own tracks ‘Oh Yeah’ ‘Guiltless’ & ‘Disconnected’ via the label Planet Acetate, these are available online at Itunes & Beatport under his own name Jon Pleased Wimmin. He also remixed the single ‘Never Enough’ by Visage in 2014. In 2015 Jon released ‘Don’t be Scared (of yourself)’ on Kidology London and he released his single ‘Heels’ on Fetch Records on July 8th in 2016 with remixes from Hifi Sean and more.

Jon has also released best-selling and well-received mix compilations on Ministry of Sound, Fantazia, Pimp, Stress and Distinctive records.

Jon still guests all over Europe playing current and classic sets and has played alongside the cream of the Dj world including Pete Tong, 2ManyDj’s, Jacques Lu Cont, Danny Tenaglia, Sasha, Carl Cox, Andrew Weatherall, Boy George, Sister Bliss and Erol Alkan and was invited in 2017 to DJ with Eats Everything at XOYO in London by the man himself.

Jon’s current sets will be likely to feature tracks from artists and remixers as diverse as Kiwi, Eats Everything, Late Night Tough Guy, The Black Madonna, Todd Terje, Purple Disco Machine and Dimitri From Paris to name a few.

An eclectic mix for the discerning clubber as ever.

Recently Jon has toured Australia, played in Ibiza and Dubai and as well as appearing extensively throughout the UK at events like Creamfields and legendary clubs such as Ministry of Sound.

Some of 2018’s highlights include more DJ appearances with Eats Everything, playing at Manchester Pride alongside Ana Matronic from Scissor Sisters and plenty of gigs for Cream and DJing at the 40th Anniversary gig at the O2 in London for the iconic band Soft Cell

Studio wise he’s been busy with a remix for Paloma Faith’s single Til I’m Done which was released in March on Sony plus a forthcoming remix of A Man Could Get Lost by Soft Cell as part of their 40th Anniversary celebrations and which will be released by Universal Music.

About DJ SS

DJ SS a.k.a. DJ Scratchen Stein was born and bred in Leicester and found fame as a self-taught scratch DJ as a teenager in the early 1980s. He also breakdanced his way on the streets of his home city.

When the hardcore scene exploded in the UK in the early 1990s, SS was there. He and his partner Eidris started promoting their own parties called Total Kaos every Friday in their home city of Leicester. They also put on one of the first large indoor parties at Donington Park in the summer of 1991. It was an amazing success and 6,000 people danced till dawn. Since then he has gone on to DJ worldwide.

SS is the co-founder and head of the Formation Records label, and has released over 100 tracks using a number of aliases. The label came to prominence from 1992 onwards releasing countless classics of darkside hardcore/jungle over the next couple of years. The label evolved with the times and by 1994 was one of the leading jungle labels. In the wake of this, the label created a number of subsidiary labels, each showcasing a differing style of music from the main imprint, including 100% Records, 5HQ Recordings, Reformed Records, New Identity, Easymen, F Project, Dubform and lately, Digiform.

Successful Formation tracks produced by SS included the 'Color Series' 'The Psycho E.P', 'Rollidge', 'Rhythm For Reasons', 'Breakbeat Pressure'and the 'Country Series', MA3 'Those DJs'.

The label's biggest hit is the piano-theme-from-Love Story-sampling 'The Lighter' originally released in 1995. It is a track that has remained incredibly popular and still continues to be played years on. It was re-released in 2002 and reached number 63 on the UK Singles Chart. He has also remixed 'No Good (Start the Dance)' by The Prodigy.

SS has featured on radio shows such as BBC 1Xtra's D&B M1X, on which he put together an hour-long mix of Formation tracks and was interviewed about his career.

Not only has his label Formation during the years had many big tunes released, they have also had many big DJ/producers release records on the label. The list is strong, big and endless including Carl Cox, Grooverider, Shy FX, Ray Keith, Bryan Gee, Jumping Jack Frost, Roni Size, DJ Krust, Kenny Ken, Ratty, Matrix, John B, Mickey Finn, Twisted Individual and Distorted Minds.

In between this huge success SS has also been the driving force behind some of the finest talent now established within the scene, of Twisted Individual. Adding to the successful list of A&R projects, DJ SS is also responsible for launching the careers of successful artists like John B, Greenlaw, Multi Platinum selling artists Nero, and is continuing on that path bringing on new blood.

Fast forward to 2015 and we saw Formation events team up with the UK’s premier event company, Outbreak Festival to host Formation & World of Drum&Bass Arena’s at their massives. Simultaneously DJ SS has built his World of Drum & Bass brand to become the biggest Drum & Bass events promoter in Russia averaging over 4-6,000 people per show.
