Heritage presents Darren (808 State), DJ nIpper and Robbie Avery on Saturday 14th April 2018

Manchester is a particularly important city - especially to electronic/acid and indie music. Some of the greatest classic dance music came from the city, as well as some of the countries finest DJs. Heritage has already paid homage to Manchesters music scene with our bookings, from Graeme Park to K Klass. We are delirious with excitement to continue or homage and to present a DJ who is a member of one of the city's most well loved and pioneering electronic house/indie groups along with a Manc-born DJ who has near-mythical status in the same way that Sasha did in 1991- indeed Sasha paid homage to him in the sleeve notes of one of his production albums.........

About Darren Partington

Darren Partington has been a key member of 808 State since the late 80’s; the story of 808 State defines an era of electronic dance music, and sets a blueprint of possibilities for future generations. Formed in Manchester in 1988, their first album – Newbuild – is now regarded as a milestone in UK electronica and sprang from a desire for a more outer-limits dance sound from the growing warehouse party scene in North West England.

From The Hacienda in Manchester to limelight in New York, Japan and Ibiza, Darren has DJ’d some of the world’s most iconic venues and clubs. He has remixed David Bowie, The Stone Roses, Bjork, Africa Bombaataa, and New Order, and has influenced the likes of Aphex Twin, Altern-8, Prodigy and Moby.

Darren's set includes all the old-school classics with some big club bangers thrown in for good measure… he is determined to keep that classic sound alive. Darren has been there since the very beginning, so don’t miss this dance music pioneer playing the best tunes of the last 30 years

About Heritage Nights

A friendship cemented by a shared love of electronic music, Will Letterese and Alex Hammond have both worked and been part of dancefloors since the mid-90's, both as clubbers and DJs. Both grew up listening to music from an early age, drawing on so many influences from early acid house trax, hip house, electro, french house, synth-pop, techno, US garage, breakbeat, tribal house, hip hop, jungle, progressive house, UKG, bashment, speed garage, rave and disco. Both are seriously avid musical trainspotters and take pride in a love and deep knowledge on all kinds of electronic dance music.

Keeping the spirit of this amazing music alive, Will and Alex present Heritage; featuring vintage dance music from 1982 to 2002. Bringing celebrated guest DJs who have influenced us and have shaped this world into the phenomenon that it is today.

This will be an historic and educational journey into the world of quality dance music, providing an insight into how new artists draw upon classic inspiration and influence from these genres. The actual clubbing experience will take you back to the golden US/UK era of the 1990's.....
